A Hidden Swiss Alpine Treasure - The Hotel Giardino Mountain
There is magic in the air at Hotel Giardino Mountain, located in Champfèr, just a stone's throw away from St. Moritz. From the moment you step through the doors, you are transported into a haven of tranquillity, comfort, and utter beauty.
Our double room was more than just a place to sleep; it was a visual treat. It offered an unparalleled, breathtaking panorama of the Swiss Alps. Gazing upon the mighty Corvatsch and the serene Lej da Champfèr from our window became a cherished daily ritual. The property’s location beside a murmuring mountain brook and an enchanting 16th-century church added layers of historical and natural charm. The daily sounds of the church bells ringing were both calming and ethereal.
Though close to the hustle and bustle of St. Moritz, Hotel Giardino Mountain provides a more peaceful retreat, embracing its guests with the calm serenity of the mountains. It offers the perfect mix of accessibility to the city (a mere 5-minute drive) and the intimacy of an alpine hideaway.
The rooms were immaculate and bathed in natural light, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Breakfast was an indulgent affair - a rich spread of fresh yoghurt, various breads, delicious pastries, cereals, salami, and bacon and eggs, prepared to perfection. The self-serve coffee machine became our morning best friend, offering an impressive array of caffeinated delights (the cappuccino was perfect).
For the outdoor enthusiasts, the hotel's proximity to several hiking trails and landmarks is a dream come true. Despite operating as a 5-star during the winter and a 4-star bed and breakfast in the low season, the facilities were top-notch during our low-season stay. The gym, spa, and outdoor lounge area added a luxurious touch to our stay.
What truly distinguishes this place, though, is the staff. Every member, from the grounds crew to the breakfast staff and cleaning team, was incredibly hardworking and meticulous. They are led by the exceptional manager, Chris, whose warmth and helpfulness made us feel so very welcome.
To sum it all up, Hotel Giardino Mountain isn't just a hotel; it's a sublime Swiss alpine experience. We cannot recommend it highly enough, and we can't wait to return. This gem of a hotel has firmly etched itself in our hearts. We'll...
Read moreIf anyone asks for advice about St. Moritz, especially Giardino Mountain, I'd wholeheartedly recommend it. My experience there was exceptional. Initially unsure about the hotel's location, I took the leap, and thanks to Marriott Bonvoy's excellent recommendation and Giardino Mountain's superb service, I was pleasantly surprised. This is one of my best experiences I ever had. Let’s start with Hotel, the location is fantastic and very close to St Moritz center 5 minutes during heavy snow even quicker with clear weather. The hotel is amazing, during my arrival and before I introducing my self to them during the checkin, they know my name with a big heart and outstanding attitude and welcoming drink starting from the amazing Isak Servalli, Francesco Molone, Paulo, Emily and the rest of hotel teams, they were super star of treating guests. They assigned me a fantastic room with stunning views of the mountains and lake, and in the mine hotel building. The breakfast is amazing with a lot of diversity food selections. The hotel facilities is outstanding including Spa, gym, ski area with hotel shuttle, valet parking, lounge and restaurant. Overall super 5 star hotel, moreover, if you have car which highly recommend in St Moritz, there is a two large public parking in the mine city and cost for 3 CHF per hour, the hotel location is outstanding and very quiet area, and beautiful view between the lake and the mountain. Isak Servalli, the head of concierge is outstanding, he know everything in St Moritz, he was one of our biggest players in this trip, he made it unforgettable and easy for us and assuming for all hotel guests, in terms of reservations, access to everything, even he arranged for my birthday celebration unforgettable in one of the best restaurant in St Moritz, he is very supportive and I am sure he will manage all guests to reach their successful experience and high expectations Wow. Overall for all reviewers this hotel is worth it to pay and be satisfy due to their staff and high quality of experience and standards. Highly recommended with honor of what they did with me. Read moreI just stayed at Giardino Mountain with my mom for the first time and our stay was nothing short of fantastic. First of all, the hotel is beautiful and set in the perfect location — it’s extremely close to St. Moritz (3-5 minutes by car or bus) in a neighboring, small village — one that’s very cute, quiet and peaceful.
The rooms are spacious, modern and have an Alpine touch. Our room had 180-degree views of the Corvatsch mountains — the most beautiful sight to wake up to every morning! The beds are extremely comfortable and the rainforest shower is also really nice.
Breakfast is tasty, buffet style. We personally loved the homemade breads, perfectly soft scrambled eggs and the assortment of cheeses. The cappuccinos were also delicious.
Now I’ve saved the best for last. The service. Cris, the manager, went above and beyond for us throughout our stay. We attribute much of our excellent stay to him. He always greeted us with a smile and was willing and happy to help us. He made dinner reservations for us every night (6 nights total) and we LOVED every single one of his recommendations. Cris is multilingual and extremely knowledgeable about the area. He gave us very personalized recommendations to our taste. My mom and I keep saying that Cris gave us some of the best service we’ve ever experienced at a hotel.
Francesco at the reception was also great. He helped arrange my private ski lessons and was also very pleasant to speak to.
