Chez Chander — Restaurant in Sion

I am from Mumbai India ,was at SION and visited the restaurant on 3rd June 2024 with my family of 6 members( which includes teenagers)....... My experience at this restaurant was one of the best.....we were six members and we prefer to have JAIN/ vegetarian food... Mr chander was extremely hospitable.one of the best host that I have ever come across ( I have travelled to more than twenty countries),I can really say that his hospitality can even beat the treatment that you get in 5 star hotels..... honestly visit the place to experience it yourself.

I will summarise my experience:

Positives:

1 Extremely good and tasty vegetarian options. 2 he can make any vegetables if you inform him a day in advance. 3 the sabzis have a home made taste attached to it and you will not miss home food 4 options like samosa, dosa etc also available..but you hv to inform him in advance... 5 he will prepare the food as you order,so everything is fresh.

Negatives:

Honestly none... You might not get colas/aerated drinks out here ( and that's a very good thing indeed)...

Its not a fancy restaurant...so do not expect waiters etc...he is one man show and attends to the guests in an extremely polite and warm manner...

I read other reviews before going to CHEZ CHANDER and the only thing couple of reviewers mentioned was regarding the price....I think it's not EXPENSIVE at all.... he prepares sabzis as per your requirement and order...better ask for the price......

Food in switzerland is expensive not just for Indians but for everyone...even the locals feel it ....hence I would not rate the food at CHEZ CHANDER expensive at all....I have been to other Indian restaurants at interlaken and other places in Switzerland....they are almost double/ triple the rates that of CHEZ CHANDER.....the reason I m writing more on the rates is bcos I do not want to mislead anyone....

In the end , I can stay that if the teenagers and ladies are happy with eating Indian food ( and not pizzas,pastas) in a restaurant in a place like Switzerland....that speaks for the food that is being served at CHEZ CHANDER.....moreso when the kids insisted to visit the place again for the food and not for the decor....

Words cannot describe how much this indian restaurant ruined my night. I was a greeted by a sloppy indian man wearing slazenger top, shoes and skinny jeans (rubbing his crack and sniffing). Honestly disgusting..... We brushed it past and sat at our table inside raj's special shop. Ordered some naan bread chicken tikka mosalah and a 4 diet cokes (for me). Took an hour to come and someone must've been a bit happy cause it came with a white sauce ive never seen before. And a crusty sock. Ate it all especially the sauce as it was extra nice and fishy. Raj however, you dissapointed me in bed last night and I wouldn't have done this if your meat stick was longer than 2 inches. Never again. Miss you, Jennifer...

We read about this place on the Happy Cow site and as it was vegan, yet with no set menu, we were curious about the concept. We walked in and were warmly greeted by the owner. He explained the menu and offered us a variety of drinks. The food was quickly prepared: the plate it was served on was sectioned off and we had a section of basmati rice, yellow lentils, vegetables and then a tofu/zucchini scramble.
