Strandhotel und Restaurant Seeblick — Restaurant in Spiez

The hotel is more like a budget hotel. The lake view is only one side. The other side face the road and is noisy with cars driving past. Overall bed is ok. Pillow only one. For the head. Towel is ok. Shower is with shower curtain. Floor for toilet wet. The basin is small. No air condition. Hot. Thank God for the cool temperature at night. What is good? Only the view if face the right direction. There is a pool which I did not use. Cannot say much. The sauna is spoiled. Reception do not work late. Until 6pm. 9am starts work. If need pay, must pay before hand. Not really a hotel standard. But really a pity. They have swimming pool, billiard table, a super good view at the lake. But the management of hotel is bad. Hope someone can help them. Really a pity. Oh, there is no safe box in the room and there is no tea or coffee free. Although there is a coffee machine inside for hot water. Coffee capsule are charged at reception for 1 euro per capsule. My experience is very sad. Although I can pass this place as a place to stay 1 night at most. Is not a hotel standard. Is jus a normal motel or BnB place. Or bed only no breakfast. As breakfast here is 19chf per person. If you do not mind a simple bed with a simple toilet, this is ok place to stay. No luxury or service to talk about. The good thing I like, free parking. I m thankful for this. By the way, room do not have fridge to store your cold food or drinks. Power points also not enough in my opinion for a room living 3 persons. Basic hotel needs for a room is not 100% met in my opinion. Fridge, kettle and safe deposit box and air conditioning is what I hope they will add in the rooms one day to fullfill what I call basic hotel necessities. My 3rd bed is a sofa bed in which my daughter do not mind sleeping on it. They do have a fan for you if you feel stuffy and for ventilation. Very old hotel. Though I must say is quite clean overall. Size wise is good enough. I give a 3 star...

My wife and I dined at this restaurant last night, and there are a few points worth mentioning about our experience:

Lack of Greeting: Unfortunately, when we entered, we weren't greeted. Instead, we walked past multiple servers before reaching the back patio, where someone finally inquired about our need for a table.

Menu and Prices: The menus arrived promptly, but we found the prices to be rather steep. For instance, a burger (without sides) cost CHF 28, and 8 fish nuggets with a small portion of fries were priced at CHF 32 (consider that 4 nuggets and fries cost CHF 22).

Food Quality: The fish was good, but the burger was just okay. The egg on the burger was supposed to be over easy but arrived overcooked, somewhat defeating the purpose of adding an egg.

Service: Regrettably, after our food and drinks were delivered, the waitress did not return to our table. No one asked about our meal, offered additional drinks, or inquired about dessert. Furthermore, our table was not cleared after we finished dining, and I had to move our belongings to an adjacent empty table to enjoy the view.

Payment Issue: To make matters worse, I was charged twice for the meal when paying. When I approached the servers about this, they mentioned they couldn't verify the duplicate charge until the following day. They didn't ask for my contact information but advised me to follow up with them. This seemed quite unusual and not in line with standard service practices.

In summary, our overall rating for this restaurant is 2 stars. While the location offers a stunning view, the service left much to be desired. The food, although acceptable, felt overpriced. It seems the restaurant capitalizes on its location, hiking up prices and not delivering the expected...

Zum runden Geburtstag habe ich (auf meinen Wunsch hin) einen Gutschein vom Strandhotel Seeblick geschenkt bekommen - im Vorfeld hat mich der "auf den Balkon ausfahrbare Whirlpool" ziemlich fasziniert.||Vom 18.-20. Oktober 2024 haben wir hier ein solches Zimmer mit Pool gebucht und sind am Freitagnachmittag angereist - dies in der Hoffnung, ein erholsames und romantisches Wochenende zu zweit verbringen zu können...||Leider kam es anders und das Ganze stellte sich als riesige Enttäuschung dar:|- Die (technische) Umsetzung der "Whirlpool-Sache" ist definitiv gescheitert und nur eine Bastelei|- Die (tolle) Darstellung auf der Website weicht um 100% von der angetroffenen Realität ab - man könnte fast schon von "Vorspiegelung falscher Tatsachen" sprechen|- Die Sauberkeit im ganzen Gebäude (und speziell im Zimmer 111) ist eher mangelhaft und teilweise recht schmuddelig|- Vom Umbau des öffentlichen Poolbereiches ist/war nie die Rede, allerdings macht sich auch dort Schimmel breit und ist deshalb nicht zu empfehlen|- Die Installationen der Haustechnik (z.B. Kabelführungen) ist haarsträubend und teilweise gefährlich|- Der Absaugventilator im (sehr kleinen) Badezimmer ist defekt (oder gar nicht vorhanden?) und als "Türstopper" dient der Abfallkübel|- Der Radiator im Badezimmer ist kalt und nicht verstellbar, z. B. zur Unterstützung um Tüechli und Badehose zu trocknen|- Die Heizung (Air Condition?) im Zimmer reagiert nicht/ist ohne Funktion|- Keine Steckdosen neben dem Bett|- Kreissägen-Lärm am Samstagabend nach 18.00h|- Halter der Duschbrause gerissen, eingehängte Duschbrause zu dick/unpassend|- Die Regendusche funktioniert nur teilweise mit dem geringen Wasserdruck und ist eher ein Rinnsal|- Die Wassertemperatur in der Dusche schwankt stark, sehr schwacher Wasserdruck|- Die Balkontüre lässt sich von innen NICHT abschliessen - der Zugang (für ungebetene Gäste) von aussen ist problemlos möglich|- eine Kaffeekapsel für die Kaffeemaschine im Zimmer kostet stolze CHF 4.00, dies bei einem Einkaufspreis von weniger als CHF 1.00|- der Rabattcoupon von CHF 8.00 anstelle der Zimmerreinigung ist nett gemeint - die Akzeptanz im Restaurant ist allerdings grenzwertig und die Verrechnung kompliziert|- Die Regenrinne auf dem Balkon ist voller Dreck, Moos und Abfall|- sehr ringhörige Zimmer (nächtlicher Lärm ist störend)|- die Badezimmertüre geht von selber zu - als "Abhilfe" dagegen steht der Abfalleimer als Türstopper davor|- der Wäschewagen des Personals steht mitten im Gang - am Samstagabend DIREKT VOR dem Lift im 1. Stock|- Leider bekommt man nur eine Zugangskarte zum Zimmer - unterschiedliche Beschäftigungen (z.B. Spaziergang) von 2 Personen sind dadurch nur erschjwert möglich|- Dekoration im Restaurant aus dem 19. Jahrhundert oder aus dem Brockenhaus - wirkt zusammengewürfelt und farblich unpassend|- Speisekarte im Restaurant weicht von derjenigen auf der Website ab (z.B. Roastbeef-Teller)|- an den alten Fensterrahmen blättert die Farbe ab|- rissige Silikonfugen am Pool im Zimmer|- Verdunkelungsrollo funktioniert nur teilweise|- Nachtvorhang beim Fenster zu kurz/Ösen teilweise ausgerissen|- erheblicher Lärm beim Ein- und Ausfahren des Pools|- keine Erwähnung der Gästekarte bei der Ankunft|- lieblose Anrichtung des Essens|- teilweise schlecht deutsch sprechendes Personal/Verwechslung bei der Bestellung|- als "Dank" haben wir eine kräftige Magenverstimmung mit nach Hause genommen||Dieses (baufällige und renovationsbedürftige) alte Hotel ist den dafür aufgerufenen Preis niemals wert - doch der maximale Profit ist wohl wichtiger als die Sauberkeit und die Sicherheit der Gäste!||Detaillierte Schilderung inkl. Bilder erfolgte per Mail an das Hotel am Sonntagabend;|bis Dienstagmorgen 10.00h leider keine Rückmeldung...|Das einzig POSITIVE: Die sensationelle Lage direkt am See!||Fazit: 3x = das erste, einzige und...
