Gasthof Rössli Dürrenast — Restaurant in Thun

We were here for dinner in a lazy sunday evening. My husband ordered a green salat with a classic Schnitzell. I had a homemade soup with a Risotto seafood. The salat was ok, seems not so fresh and was placed 1 or 2 days ago in the fridge. The Schnitzell was big, thick, uncrispy and bland. I wish they could give me a thinner cut of the meat but more flavor and crispier. The homemade soup was really bad. It tasted like they cooked with Knorr or Maggie or any brands, with water. Even no vegetables or chopped meat within the soup. Weird! My Risotto, again was a dissapointing meal. I guess they used the same homemade soup as the stock for my Risotto. Seafood was came from a frozen package, I am pretty sure. Very chewy and rubbery, almost no taste at all. There was some grained cheese over the Risotto but no flavor as well. ||The service was friendly and fast. They took our feedback and asked us to come back again to see their improvement. We are very sure that we will never come back...

We arrived in the pretty City of Thun late afternnon in May, and found the Tourist Info near the train station, but much to our dismay, soon discovered there was a very large conference in town and almost all rooms were booked. (having said that, the girl at the tourist info was INCREDIBLY friendly and helpful)||We finally got a reservation at the Rossli Durrenast. BIG mistake. The hotel was over a pzza joint, had dingy corridors, but the icing on the cake was the mold INSIDE the glasses in the bathroom. (how long ago was this room occupied?) We never took our shoes off, went to bed early, then escaped early. The room was not clean. The owners (not Swiss) were,O.K., but a bit creepy (out of an Alfred Hitchcock movie??) ||In our three week tour of Germany, Austria and Switzerland, this was BY FAR the worst accomodation.||DON'T DO IT !||||Contact me if you really want...
