Restaurant Sens — Restaurant in Vitznau

We have been to many fine dining restaurants, including 1, 2 and 3 star Michelin restaurants. These are usually amazing on food & service, but room decoration & location aren't usually amazing. We've also been to a lot of restaurants with amazing locations and decoration and they're often overpriced, with food and service that are below par.

This restaurant has it all. The food is Michelin star worthy. Not only are the tastes great, but there is more creativity in each course than we've seen in a long time, including in the way it is assembled at your table. The service is well paced, and extreremely friendly (perhaps not Michelin star quality, but sill very good). And the location is stunning, literrally on the lake, with views of the mountains and cliffs from Rigi.

If you can (and assuming the weather is nice), get one of the few tables on the pier - it is a unique experience and view. If you have time and can afford it, go for the 8 course menu - the more the merrier (and the portions are really small so you don't feel full midway). We also took the wine pairings and thought that the wines were all quite interesting and really well paired.

Regarding food, we would agree that sometimes creativity came at the detriment of taste (a tiny bit - it was still very good), but, hey, we really enjoyed the creativity.

This right now is for us the best restaurant we've ever been to.

The price was quite reasonable given the above. In fact, we were two and when they noticed that we were not finishing our glasses of wine, they spontaneously offered to only serve half the quantity and only charged us for 1 set of (8) wines, instead of 2. Unbelievable (and, so, you should know this...

We had one of the most wonderful dining experiences we have ever had here. The food was impeccable, the service was friendly and accommodating, and the dock was absolutely charming. It's a really unique place

Ich hatte das große Vergnügen, im Restaurant Sens zu essen und es war ein rundum wunderbares Erlebnis. Nicht nur war das Essen hervorragend, sondern auch der Ausblick einfach traumhaft. Die Atmosphäre war entspannt, stilvoll und gleichzeitig unglaublich einladend.

Ein ganz besonderer Dank geht an die liebe Aisha, die mich wirklich außergewöhnlich gut bedient hat. Sie war unglaublich aufmerksam, herzlich und hat mit ihrer positiven Art dafür gesorgt, dass ich mich rundum wohlgefühlt habe. Dank ihr konnte ich meinen Aufenthalt in vollen Zügen genießen inklusive einer erholsamen Zeit im Pool und einem wunderbaren Abend, an dem ich mich rundum schön und besonders gefühlt habe.

Ein Besuch im Sens ist nicht nur ein kulinarisches Erlebnis, sondern auch ein Ort, an dem man sich verwöhnen lassen darf dank Menschen wie Aisha. Ich komme ganz...
