Lotus Garden — Restaurant in Zurich

On google its stated that they open at 6.00pm but got there earlier at 5.45pm and they open the door already. We did not make any reservations and the staff told us that we have to leave before 7.30pm. Guys, please call and make reservations in advance as the place was really filled up.

We ordered a 辣子鸡 Fried Chilli Chicken and 干煸四季豆 Stir Fried Beans with Chopped Pork. While for drinks we ordered a Yakult Green Tea and Sprite. Our food was served around 15-20 mins. While we have to remind the staff on our drinks, after we reminded the staff our drinks was served swiftly. Fried Chilli Chicken was really good! The spiciness, the 麻 and salty level was just at the optimal taste! And usually this dish will have lots of dried chilli and only a little meat. But surprisingly the meat portion here is very decent! For the Fried Beans, it tasted sweet, feels like oysters sauce and dark soy sauce. Its a little different than the 干煸四季豆 that we know. At our place its fried with garlic, pork and salt, not sauces. For Yakult Green Tea, unfortunately they are out of Green Tea. So we have a Yakult Black Tea instead. The taste was sweet and good, it satisfied our craving for BBT! The Sprite was serve in a glass bottle instead of in Cans.

Authentic, tasty, and uses high-quality ingredients. Excellent teas. Portions are big and prices are reasonable. Very popular even on weekday evenings, so expect long wait and slow service.

I'm visiting from California where there's good Chinese food on every street corner, and after a week in Zurich I was desperate for a taste of home. I almost broke down in tears when I tasted the food here! Visited twice and everything was absolutely delicious. If it wasn't for the long wait I'd eat here everyday.

One of the Taiwanese male servers with glasses was extremely friendly and went above-and-beyond, helping me get food even though I stopped by just before closing time. Thank you for making my day!

I would have given it 4.5 stars if there is this option. Absolutely my favourite Chinese in Zurich. To be precise, it's Taiwanese and the dishes are very flavorful. It's not like other shops where I can only taste salt and chilly. There are lot more layers of flavour from this restaurant. Service was prompt but not rushed. The tea, I ordered the Taiwanese Jasmin tea, it's great flavour. Not the usual low quality Jasmin tea. If there is only one Chinese you want to visit, then come to this one. They also have the strange and wonderful choices if you wish to brave yourself. Otherwise, the usual beef, fish, pork, lamb, duck are plentiful and all with good flavour. Prices are also reasonable.
