FB Steakhouse
When my partner asked me to try out this restaurant, I was a bit skeptical. The location is pretty much outskirts from the city. By the end of tram line to be exact. When we arrived there, there were only two guests sitting on the outdoor table on a Thursday evening. So I was even more skeptical.
When we entered the restaurant, the staff were busy in the kitchen, so we needed to call twice until someone noticed us came in. And the waiter immediately seated us in one of the outdoor table. The tables are pretty much empty, so we could choose any table we desired. The waiter was very friendly and chatty, he immediately gave us the menu card and asked us if we wanted to started with Aperitif drinks.
By the time we ordered, me and my partner ordered the exact T-Bone Steak 500g. The steak was cooked to perfection, we ordered them medium and it was tremendously delicious. My steak came with spinach as side dish, and it was delicious. Not too soft and not too raw, perfectly Al dente, perfectly seasoned.
After diner we ordered dessert. I took their Tartufo Al Limoncello and my partner took Tartufo Al Pistacchio e Amaretto. My Tartufo was divine, light and has refreshing taste. It was perfect for a warm summer evening.
In summary I recommend for you to try this restaurant by yourself. Experience...

My friend and I went searching for a decent eatery which was open on 1st August, Swiss National Day, and were disappointed to find our first choice (a recommendation from a colleague) was closed. We took the #3 tram back to Albisrieden with few expectations of finding anything to eat at 8pm but to our surprise, not only was this place open but it was not full. The owner was jovial and quizzed us on our knowledge of various languages (intimating he was fluent in each).
We chose a table outside, so we could smoke, and eagerly surveyed our fellow diners' choices. Pizzas seemed to be popular, so I chose the Hawaiian while my partner plumped for a spicy meat affair, which was served with additional chillis in oil. We shared a green salad as a starter.
All in all, it was quite good - nothing special, but above average, in the authentic Italian thin style. The salad was fresh although nothing exceptional to fire the imagination. For the price, it was reasonable value for Zürich (weighing in much cheaper than city centre places). The bill for two including drinks was CHF60 although we skipped dessert and coffee, on...
Read moreThe food was beautifully presented in the renovated restaurant. However, the 29 CHF burger was very poor. I don't know what they do to the meat, but it had no flavor and did not look or feel like ground beef. Perhaps it had been frozen? A steakhouse should be able to do much better.
The 3 CHF I paid to get cheese on the burger was a complete waste. The yellow gooey cheese tasted and looked exactly like the plastic wrapped cheese you put on toast at home.
The brioche bun was lovely even though it was a little burned. But if you want a burger with juicy meat, go to Helvti Diner, The Bite, or...
