The hotel is horribly run down. Seems like the hotel is operating on a tight budget which does not make reasonable sense.
Shower head nut and screw worn out. Technician came to replace. We are 3 person sharing a room. 3rd set of towels etc are given only upon request. And he politely explained that the management is phasing out reusable plastic mug for brushing teeth, and gave paper cups instead for my girls. Strange. Doesn't that create more waste for our planet?
Sink and Aircon broke before. Fixed, but horrible traces were left behind.
What used to be a mirror was not replaced.
For a room that can sleep up to 4, the wardrobe is credibly small.
Corridor lights were turned off shortly after 9pm to conserve energy. I have never stayed in a hotel like this. It is more like a student hostel. Even hospital wards do not turn off the lights so early. They only turned on the lights after several calls were made to the hotel counter
Toilet clothes line was stuck and cannot be pulled out.
Hot water kettle spout was badly rusted. I have to go out to use the hot water dispensers to make milk for my little girl. And the dispenser water does not feel like 102 deg Celsius hot. Just feels warm.
Hotel does not provide heater even in the colder year end months. They can only offer us more blankets. Aircon turned to 30 deg on low fan mode still freezing cold. We turned off the aircon instead.
Coin operated dryer looks like it was never cleaned? And it doesn't dry our clothes thoroughly after a 45min high heat drying process.
Worst sound insulation ever. Tried to sleep but can still hear upstairs guests using bathroom, cars on the road, etc. Who on earth sleeps after 9pm? Why lights out so early? I simply do not get what the hotel management are thinking.
The hotel exudes an air which reflects that it does not care about making hotel guests feel homely in a foreign country. 完全没有宾至如归的感觉。这是你们开酒店的理念吗?
The run down rooms really destroys the festive holiday mood. Staff are polite and sound helpless with the...
Read moreThis is a very nice hotel with a grand foyer and chandelier. The staff were helpful and efficient and we were grateful for their English language skills. Our room was surprisingly large and although non-smoking, we thought we could smell a residual odour of cigarettes. We had barely put our case down when there was a knock at the door, and we received a delivery of two apples, biscuits and mints. A lovely touch and very welcoming. As I was travelling with my teenage son, we had twin beds which were more like double bed size, so that was a plus. (The beds were not what I would call single beds. I say this, as bed sizes can be a bit confusing in Taiwan). The room also included two arm chairs with a small table, and a desk. The bathroom was separated by a glass window, partly obscured which seems to be a trend in Taiwan. The hotel does not seem to be near to any shops/restaurants although there is a 7-11 type store across the road. We had cause to go to a Family Mart, the nearest one according to google maps was about a 10/15 min walk with no real footpath which made it an interesting journey. Each window of the hotel is lit up at night, and if you leave the curtains open, you can watch the lights change colour which was a bit quirky. We had a restful sleep, the beds comfy and the room quiet. Breakfast was very impressive however, neither of us were particularly hungry, choosing toast and cereal over hot items. All washed down with some very nice rose green tea. This was one of the best value hotels throughout our travels in Taiwan and I would recommend it if you are...
