I recently had the pleasure of staying at Voco Hotel Chiayi, and I wanted to take a moment to recognize the outstanding service provided by your Loyalty Manager, Vito Chen.
From the moment I arrived, I was incredibly impressed by Vito’s attention to detail and his ability to anticipate guests’ needs without them even having to ask. His hospitality was truly remarkable, and he consistently went above and beyond to ensure that every IHG Loyalty Member felt welcomed and comfortable. In fact, I was amazed by his dedication, he even stayed extra hours just to make sure everyone had an exceptional experience.
One moment that really stood out was when Vito took the initiative to print out an Alishan map and offer me helpful travel advice before I even asked. But what impressed me even more was how he continued to go the extra mile throughout our stay. He even came to check on us during breakfast and personally offered a bowl of Chiayi’s signature chicken rice dish, ensuring we experienced the local flavors. This thoughtful touch made us feel incredibly valued and showcased his genuine passion for hospitality.
To be honest, for a moment, I felt like I was at the Mandarin Oriental or Capella. The level of service that Vito provided was truly five-star, exceeding all expectations. He doesn’t just treat guests with kindness, he makes sure that every single person feels like a true VIP at Voco Hotel.
Beyond his impeccable hospitality, I was also impressed by his strong sales acumen. During our conversation, he casually asked where I would be staying in Taipei. When I mentioned Sheraton, he immediately introduced me to Kimpton Taipei, an IHG property, highlighting its unique offerings. His ability to seamlessly weave in brand loyalty while keeping the conversation natural and engaging was truly commendable.
Because of his exceptional service, I will definitely return and look forward to an even longer stay. Vito is not only an incredible representative of your hotel but also a tremendous asset to the entire IHG Group. His dedication, warmth, and genuine care for guests embody the highest standards of hospitality. Employees like him truly set IHG properties apart, and I hope his hard work and commitment are recognized.

Read moreWe spent two nights at Voco Hotel Chiayi and overall, it was a delightful and comfortable stay. While the exterior may appear a little dated, the moment you step inside, you’re greeted with a modern, stylish interior that feels fresh and welcoming.
Our room came with a private balcony offering a lovely sea view — the perfect spot to unwind and enjoy a peaceful moment. The bathroom was spacious and well-appointed, featuring a large bathtub that's ideal for a relaxing soak after a long day of exploring.
One of the highlights of the hotel is the cozy sky bar and lookout area. From here, you get sweeping views of the Chiayi skyline. The glass walkway adds a fun, heart-pounding twist to the experience — definitely something to try if you’re not afraid of heights!
Fitness enthusiasts will be pleased with the well-lit, spacious gym. It’s nicely equipped with treadmills, elliptical a cycling machine, dumbbells, and a cable machine — perfect for getting in a great workout even while on holiday.
We also appreciated the hotel’s in-house dining options, including a charming café in the lobby. It's a great spot to relax with a coffee and cake in the afternoon. The location is convenient, with many popular local eateries and food stalls just around the corner.
Another thoughtful touch: filtered water dispensers are available on every floor, allowing guests to refill bottles easily and sustainably.
The service team was generally friendly and helpful, though they could be a bit more visible during peak periods.

She is very warm and friendly . Also she’s very patient and spent time to explain the tourist spots and in-house services to us. The Loyalty Manager Vito is very friendly and helpful. He spent time to chat with us and make sure we’re satisfied with the hotel services. He greeted us while we stayed there. We’re so happy to choose our stay here. The other special staff Penny in the lobby cafe is angel in the hotel. She is extremely helpful, always appeared with cheerful with happy smiley eyes even she worn a mask. She spent time to talk to us and make sure we’re ok and offered drinks to us daily. I saw many customers stop by to chat with her and she showed concern to the families and kids! She offered popcorn to us and the kids. Thank you very much for all the special treats, the excellent and personal services provided by the wonderful team!
