曼谷泰式料理（永和店） — Restaurant in Da'an District

Been here a few times. Some very authentic Thai dishes. Curry chicken was pretty good, close to the flavor that I had in Thailand, with many authentic Thai ingredients. Masaman beef was very flavorful except the meat was too fatty and unchewable.

Staff was outstanding, highly attentive and super friendly. Atmosphere was spacious and comfortable. I would rate this place 5 stars again if the beef could be readjusted to what it was before or better.

FOOD POISONING

Had a veggie dish, yellow curry chicken and oysters omelette.

5-6 hours later, I started to vomit, and the vomiting occurred once every hour for the next 10 hours. In total, I vomited about 10 times, until there was nothing left. It was definitely due to either the chicken or the oysters. It was likely not properly cooked. Thought about going to the hospital but was too tired to even sit up let alone go out. The next day, had diarrhea. Took me almost a week to fully recover. Although I liked the restaurant, I'm not sure if I would have the confidence to return after this episode.

Shrimp Paste Fried Rice ($200): You can ask for not putting onions on the fried rice if you hate eating those. The flavour of shrimp paste has always complemented the fried rice so well. When it comes to its taste, it was delicious but not of the best texture and some eggs were slightly burnt, which can be improved.

Snow Coconut Smoothie ($180): It tasted relatively thick, crunchy, creamy and delightful. It costs a lot more than the other beverages they have but both the portion and value of it were great. I still highly recommend trying it out for once. In conclusion, efficient service, authentic experience with Thai servers, and moderate prices. Its location is only a few metres from the MRT station exit 2. Overall, it’s a 8.5 out of 10!

To be honest, when I see a place with such a high rating and so many reviews on Google, I usually think the reviews are fake and the place can't be that good. But I was wrong with this place.
