During the almost 45 minutes we waited for our dishes - one of which was fried rice which should be 5-10 minutes maximum - it became very clear that everyone working here was piss drunk. Now, I worked in restaurants when I was in high school and university, and I've done more than my fair share of drinking while on shift, but these people were absolutely tanked. Like, 3am drunk. It took them about 30 minutes to notice that they were out of two dishes we ordered, you could hear them dropping all kinds of stuff in the kitchen, and they were slurring their words pretty badly. I speak decent Chinese but honestly had no clue what they were saying to us. My wife is a native speaker and was also at a loss. When our food finally did arrive it ranged from disappointing to awful. After I paid the bill (reluctantly), and walked out of the restaurant, we saw the dude working there pick up the unfinished fish off of our table, take it to the kitchen, and start eating it with his hands. The "dining experience" here was bad and bizarre enough to inspire me to write the first restaurant review of my life. Would recommend eating elsewhere...
Read moreArrived only about 15 minutes before they were about to close, but they were still happy to see us, which was very sweet and unexpected. The food was delicious. I followed the other reviews and got the flying fish fried rice and it was something we would definitely re-order. My kids loved it and I really enjoyed the meal as well. I think we’ll probably be back before we leave Dulan! The owners were super friendly!
