綠島 非炒不可海鮮食堂 — Restaurant in Green Island

It started out with having good food. Then things completely went downhill when we were asked to leave 40 minutes into our dinner. The restaurant was very busy on a Friday night. I understand that they want to make more money on the busiest night of the week. However, one of the servers told us that we have to leave in 20 minutes right after she served our last dish. We only have one hour to finish all our food from the time we sit down till the time have to leave. We were eating our food in a corner table of the patio in a 95 degree hot summer evening without a fan. The table is not that desirable compared to other customers who can enjoy their dishes in the restaurant’s air conditioning dinning hall. The dinner bill was $4,440 for five of us. Maybe we didn’t order any beverages (in particular alcohol) from them so that make us not ideal customers. I wish they could have told us earlier that we only have ONE HOUR then we wouldn’t order so much food. Three servers came to our tables three times to kick us out while we were having food in our mouths. I never have to consume my food that fast in my life other than when I was in a military new recruits training camp :) I wish making sure a memorable dining experience for their customers is the owner’s priority. The solution to balance making money and good customer experience is to provide a longer dining time, maybe 90 minutes with a minimum charge per person...

Really nice atmosphere in a trendy environment, was lively and almost full when we got there around 7pm. We were told we would have to wait around half an hour for our order, but we eventually got it a little faster. There's indoor and outdoor seating, no fan outside but the heat was more than bearable. They offer different sets for two or more people, we opted for the two people set for 500 NTD. You can choose between a number of mains, sides and drinks or soup. We had the venison, sashimi, the Japanese tofu, cabbage and the soup. The sahsimi came in cubed, rather large pieces and was fine. The venison was a typical stir fried, very okay. The tofu looked great and had perfect texture. The soup came with a good amount of fish. Staff was friendly and professional and price more than reasonable. A bit pricey, but the food was good! The sets include drinks and have several choices. Quick service, helpful staff. One of the waiters dropped a bit of lettuce on the floor and they were quick to clean it up, and mopped over the area twice. The toilet is not for tall people, lol (see for yourself).

We ordered the pork and basil stir fry and the seasonal vegetables (地瓜葉sweet potato leaves, misleading name, trust me) and they were buttery and tasty.
