My mother and I showed up right as they opened for dinner. The owner was hanging out with his friends who seemed disappointed that we chose to eat inside, causing them to forfeit one of the multiple tables they were all using. After clearing a table for us we all just awkwardly stood there looking at the one stool at the table. I walked to another table to get another stool. The owner seemed embarrassed. From there on out the service was a bit better and the other servers seemed to be a bit more switched on. Mom's veggie pizza was decent enough. Exceeded our low expections. Coffee Oreo "smoothie" was a little lame. I should have known from the Chinese that it was more of a slushy (icey?) but with ingredients like that I assumed it would be more a milkshake, I was wrong. Ceaser salad with chicken strips was alright. Mostly lettuce but I kind of anticipated that. The chicken was not bad. I also had a venison burrito but as others have mentioned here, there was hardly any meat in it, just a ton of lettuce. It came with chips that were freshly fried and pretty good, though. I might put up pics later. Seems like it could be a decent place for drinks and snacks with a group of friends but is about as lackluster as any other place for dining...
Read moreWanted to try the western food and ended up at this joint. Great ambience and interior decoration and has a very cool hippy feeling. Staff were very nice and friendly and spoke a little English also. Good options on the menu were plenty but I was a little disheartened that over a travel weekend there was no pasta options available which killed half the menu. We ordered pizzas and beers. The chilly pizza which was made with sweet chilies and jalapeños were just amazing and it was really a surprise. They had a venison pizza which I got really excited seeing was not so exciting and the taste kinda was like marinara and Bologna. The truffle pizza was also alright for a hungry stomach. The chicken wings were too dry and the kinda had a soggy feel to it and the fries that we ordered with it were ok. Wouldn’t order the chicken wings again though. Being a bar they only had Budweiser beer which also one more disappointment and we just had 1 to go with the pizzas. The place has outdoor seating which provides breathtaking views of the ocean but they open at 6pm which kinda limits the time you can sit outside because once it gets dark there’s no point sitting outside. Overall the place could do with some...
Read moreWhen you rate a place you need to remember where you are. For a restaurant on a small island off the coast of Taiwan serving western food and craft beer this place isn’t bad at all. The staff are friendly. The service is a bit hit and miss, but not deliberately so (they forgot my second beer but when I reminded them it was with me in seconds and with a smile). My girlfriend is vegetarian, so we got the vego pizza and it was fine ... no Michelin stars, bur definitely no complaints. I had some chicken wings with lime and thought they were above average considering the location. The wheat draft beer was delicious and the plum beer tasted great and knocked my girlfriend out for a little nap to a satisfactory degree. All up a 4/5 place to chill...
