Here we are on the Taiwan east coast just finishing our tour of the Taroko Route attractions.
Before settling in for the night at the local Goodness Hotel, it was time to seek dinner out. The hotel gives out complimentary use of bicycles so that how we found this restaurant.
The mission was simple. Seek out famous Taiwanese eats so we ordered 10 Shoalin Bow 50 NTD and Soup 35 NTD.
The bow were tasty (3.5 stars) but nada for the soup (generous 2 stars) so I rounded up to 3 overall.

Read moreTo all the Westerners, this is a side in the wall restaurant. It’s humid. Came twice in an hour to pick up soup dumplings and niu-rou-fan (牛肉饭).
Excellent combo for roughly 90NT ($3USD). I went again with a friend to try the dumplings: he loved it but me? It was solid. There’s a spice that I don’t prefer but only in subtle nature (5 spice).
Overall, they were popping at 8:30 and 9:30 on a Wednesday night. People were coming in and/or picking up to go.
