怪獸漢堡Monster Burger 僅此一間絕無分店 — Restaurant in Kaohsiung

It is my 2nd day of intermittent fasting and I haven’t had anything for 22 hrs since my last meal. So starving, I treated myself to this fat juicy brandy mushroom sauce burger. To my dismay, the ingredients were fresh, but the taste was bland. There were no salt, pepper, ketchup, nor napkin served. I’ve never had such a bland burger before. After finishing the meal, I questioned myself if my palate was off for some reason? So next, I ordered the Japanese style burger. To which, I was warned by the chef that I should’ve ordered it earlier so that I wouldn’t take up the table. But she’ll let me off the hook this time. Feeling a little embarrassed for inconveniencing the restaurant, I looked back and the only other patron had left leaving me all alone… So, sitting back at the same table, I felt a bit uncomfortable. As my second burger arrived, it turned out to be the same bland burger but this time, it was covered in batter and deep fried with sweet sauce on top. Immediately I finished the meal and ran off to Family Mart. There, I bought a custard cream puff that tasted sweet, creamy, and soft to make sure my taste bud was alright. In conclusion, i give it 2 stars for the decoration and the freshness but I wouldn’t go back to this burger joint unless I fasted for another 48 hrs.

One of a number of new additions to Kaohsiung's culinary topography, Monster Burger tackles the fast food niche in a quirky way. The main mean choices are nothing too fancy, but the main interest lies in the funny design. The small restaurant is chock full of small and bigger toys, the majority of which come from Japan and Taiwan's Manga culture. One result of this somewhat cramped interior is that things can fall and break of touched, which is why kids under 12 are currently not allowed inside. The good is nothing to extraordinary, and personally think that the side dishes are the main attraction. The fried popcorn chicken is to die for! Do note that spicy does mean just that - don't be fooled thinking the bacon burger will be on the savory side; pretty sure the sauce has made it in the Scoville chart. Another thing: parking in the direct vicinity will be wishful thinking, to prepare some extra time lest the relaxing stroll from the parking lot will turn into...

One of the best gourmet burger places I’ve been to in Kaohsiung. Ordered their signature burger and peanut butter burger.

The signature burger was a very delicious blend of flavors in my mouth. The taste of the beef patty and the spring vegetables were well-balanced and even. Their cheese sauce compliments the complexity of flavors and brings out the natural taste of the beef and vegetable.

The peanut butter burger adds to their signature burger with a more flavorful explosion. With the addition of ham and peanut butter, the umame taste is kicked up to another level. It feels like getting bonus points on an exam. They really hit the ball out of the park.

Their burgers already includes fries and drinks. Their fries are very delicious also. The flavor enhances your burger experience.
