古早時期是開在民雄大士爺廟旁的美食巷轉角第一間，記憶裡約莫30-40年前我還小的時候是由第二代老大經營，曾經是遠近馳名有許多外地人或是外地生活的民雄人想念的味道，印象最深是吃肉丸配一碗柴魚湯讓人回味無窮，但後來交由第二代其他成員經營後味道就不太一樣，再來就沒有再去吃了，聽說好幾年前沒有在營業了，直到最近回故鄉看到同樣名字的招牌進去光顧一看就知道是第三代的店，因為老闆跟第二代老大年輕時長得很像，點了一顆肉丸味道也跟小時候的記憶一樣，可惜少了那一碗柴魚湯，但味道還是一樣那麼美味，...

小時候的記憶，光陰年華一甲子，記得第一代莊家肉圓在廟口旁，是我和父親去民雄必吃的美食，而第二代是我每年回鄉掃墓必去光顧，每次20顆外帶北上，比彰化肉圓好吃，後來不知什麼原因收攤，心裡在想惋惜啊，老一輩留下來的美食技能，卻沒能傳承而失傳，實在傷心，每年清明節前都在GOOGLE尋找是否有新開業，沒想到第三代重新操業開店，很慶幸味道沒失傳，只是經典柴魚湯不見了，美中不足啊，加油啊，這種古早美食一定不用怕沒人光顧的。 記得招牌寫上電話或Google 地圖...
