Lane 72 Bistro — Restaurant in New Taipei

Decor looks great but that's as far as it goes, British Pub It Is Not, total disappointment really, arrive at opening time, order drinks while looking at the menu to choose our food, bar person not interested in serving the drinks, too busy stocking the spirit bottles behind the bar and after waiting 15 minutes and asking when our drinks will arrive he suggests to wait, had to suggest strongly that he served the paying customer first before carrying out behind the bar duties, no change later when we ordered next round he was too busy clearing glasses off the bar from the six other customers who had just finished, and at that time there was only 10 customers in the bar, obviously does not care who is paying for their wages, as for the food, reviews said it was good but how do you manage to overcook fish when the place was not busy, absolute rubbish, certainly not worth...

Was expecting a quick meal. Ordered a sausage roll, fish and chips. Waited for 30minutes and saw people who came in 20minutes after me receive their meal. Asked the server, who made excuses first and then found out my fish is still defrosting after I said I'm leaving

Do not order those dishes unless you are willing to spend 660, and have more than 40minutes to spare.

Suggestion to the server· 1.Don't tell a guest another tables food is faster because it's deep fried when I ordered fish and chips. 2.Not a good idea to say it takes 40minutes for my dish because you are deep frying a whole fish, it literally takes 10min in the frier.

Either way, I was hoping to be a regular and hopefully find some good food, not a chance now would I...

It's sad to see beer sold at 711 for 60-100ntd go for ~280ntd, with pricier beer than the most expensive bar at 101. This place had potential, but the prices don't match the area. The only beers on draft are also 711 ones rather than craft. A shame :/

Edit: Guiness and Carlsberg are genuinely the Taiwan Gold equivalent of those countries. That's like saying offbrand Diet Coke is an exotic American beverage and charging...
