Walk and Taste Café — Restaurant in New Taipei

I loved my experience here. The place is in Houtong Cat Village and I was searching for a place to eat. I really wanted to eat somewhere with the cats but the cafe where I was planning to eat was closed and I saw this cafe so I tried asking if there is a seat available. The place was really small and cramped but you have this cozy or homey feeling coz it's simple but nice. When they showed me where to sit, I did not think it was actually available coz it was just a chair with a coffee table beside the wall near the corner. When I sat, I was delighted coz I was sitting in front of another cat on the other chair. He looked like Garfield! The cat was also well behaved since he just slept the whole way time, he let me pet him and when he smelled my food, he woke up but didn't walk towards the food! The food that I ordered were also delicious. I ordered a club sandwich and a cookies and cream Frappuccino. I enjoyed and ate everything. First up, i'd label this eatery as a 'hipster cafe based on the menu and the furnishing. You'd realise they did not tout the place as a cat cafe so don't expect many cats in this place

The food is standard cafe style, with elaborate presentation, and somewhat sub par flavour. The scrambled eggs were rather tasteless. However, the bacon was well grilled without it being too salty, and the bread was well toasted. The sausages were quite flavourful, which for me was the best thing in the breakfast pan.

The coffee was unremarkable.

A good place to rest and chat, but do not hope to find remarkable food, or cat...

i came to houtong cat village because i am cat lover (of course !! Hahaha) . I’ve explored many reviews about cats, cafes, foods, coffee and they told me not to expect too much about food/coffee. I chose this cafe as soon as i spotted the big ginger cat through the window !! LOL. and i’m so surprised ! When my toffee latte tastes good and also one of my toplist club sandwich they made !

the male ginger cat name Arcus ? I’m not sure lol he’s 9/10 years old. quite annoyed by human , needs sleeping and meoww strange !!
