Blessed are we all to have conferred a sense of taste by the almighty but only a few selective ones amongst us are super-blessed who get a chance to satisfy the taste buds. Our transposition from “just blessed to super blessed” happened recently when we visited the very famous and authentic Indian restaurant “Jai Ho“ in Tianmu. Let me start reminiscing the experience with the food first. “A blend of spices and vegetables placed in a cauldron of love and satisfaction“ is what I can say the best to describe the food. Of course, the food exudes freshness and the chefs are exercising creativity as well as authenticity to the hilt in furnishing the dishes and loading enough Indianness in them. On the whole, mouth-watering dishes were served with panache. Noteworthy to mention, the restaurant offers a magnificent compendium of luscious wines and whisky. Only mentioning the quality and freshness of the food would be a complete injustice to the place because the staff and the owners of this place deserve equal accolades for being so welcoming. Always endowed with a pleasing smile, the staff members did not leave any stone unturned to make sure that the visit to this place becomes a gratifying and a surreal experience for us. Delightfully, the owners of this restaurant, in addition to being extremely humble, are connoisseurs of taste and this very fact puts the icing on the cake.
Collectively, a feast for the taste buds (impeccable and delicious food), pleasure for the eyes (mesmerizing ambiance), a stellar collection of wines and whisky (with varying degrees of fermentation), and a very adorable staff are some of the salient features that make this place a must-go for everyone.

Read more4.5 out of 5 stars in total. Overall one of the best Indian restaurants I've eaten in Greater Taipei Area. I've tried these dishes so far:
Veg Seekh Kabab: 8/10 very tasty, kabab could be softer on the inside. Paneer Tikka: 9/10 nice spicy sauce/gravy on top Tandoori Gobhi: 9/10 same spicy sauce on top as Paneer Tikka, but well cooked nonetheless. Don't get both Gobhi AND Paneer Tikka at the same time. Tandoori aloo: 5/10 this was a bit flat. The potatoes were a bit hard and flavorless. All the flavor was in the filling only. Dal Makhani: 6/10 too much cream! The color was way lighter (almost whitish) than it's supposed to be because there was so much cream. The lentils flavor disappeared. Dal Makhani is usually dark brown with the appropriate amount of cream. Mix Veg: 9/10 very well prepared. Good flavors, lots of vegetables, must recommend if you want to eat your share of vegetables for the meal 😊 Laccha Paratha: 10/10 prepared exactly how it should be. Crispy and fresh. Goes really well with any curry. Paan Kulfi: 10/10 it's so hard to find this flavor in Taiwan. It tasted perfect and was the best possible...
Read moreUndoubtedly some of the best Indian cuisine in Taipei City brimming with mouth-watering dishes and an authentic flavor that shows not only the owner’s deep understanding of Indian food culture, but his profound love for its beauty and art. What really enriched my experience at Jai Ho was not only the great food, but the immaculate service and welcoming attitude that enveloped me as soon as I opened their door. The interior is impeccable in its style, color and decoration that really encompasses the Indian culture without going overboard, and the workers were extremely polite and informative in explaining the various dishes provided on the menu that included many vegetarian options as well. I wholeheartedly recommend Jai Ho to anyone wandering nearby who’s looking for an affordable yet authentic and delicious meal - whether Indian cuisine is your cup of tea or not, I assure that you will not regret...
