Hipster hotel with chic, comfy rooms and great service!
Rooms: (4/5) we stayed in a Savvy room (larger guest room with 2 doubles, corner and away from elevator), which featured solid beds, a couple armchairs and table, a (unstocked) minibar/fridge stand, a clothes hanger, and a large bathroom with a soaking tub by window, modern ToTo toilet with bidet and walk-in shower. The room was large (400+ sq ft) and very well appointed - with plenty of lighting to boast! The hotel is recently built and the furniture and fixtures feel as such. The room offered a cute balcony, but was locked inaccessible unless for emergency purposes, and had a door that shook on its hinges at random intervals. While the style is not my favorite - the rooms are well appointed.
Service: (5/5) I wish I had the same wonderful service experience at other Marriotts / hotels as I did here! We warmly greeted and checked-in at the front desk, who explained all the hotel benefits and facilities. We graciously received both a room upgrade and confirmation of honored late checkout in-advance to our arrival (due to Marriott Bonvoy status). The Aloft Anping also offered welcome drinks, gourmet free breakfast buffet as a welcome amenity, proactively bottles of water, and a lovely handwritten note and delivered snacks (again due to Bonvoy status)! Everyone we encountered was so nice and welcoming!
Location: (2/5) Aloft Anping is located close to the historical golden fort (literally across the street) but is unfortunately otherwise far from everything. There are no convenient public transit options or restaurants nearby and most touristy activities (e.g., Anping Old Street and Fort) are at least a ten minute car ride away.
Facilities: (4/5) the Aloft offers a first-floor restaurant / bar (called the Depot) that serves breakfast buffet and a la carte menu throughout the day and a Recharge station selling snacks and various sundries. Other facilities include a rooftop bar with commanding views to the harbor, a second floor gym and banquet rooms, and a lobby area with comfy seats and gaming console. The Aloft also has a couple levels of parking. The breakfast buffet offers an impressive spread of warm Western/Asian entrees, fresh-cut fruit, pastries, etc.
Value: (5/5) Our stay only costs us ~$100 USD, which is a steal for the comfy room, great service, and awesome...
Read moreAloft Hotel Tainan Anping offers a cozy and comfortable stay in a peaceful, residential part of the city—perfect for travelers looking to unwind away from the crowds. Located right across from a serene park where locals go for morning jogs and workouts, the surroundings feel calm and refreshing, especially in the early hours.
The hotel has a trendy, modern vibe. The lobby is stylishly designed with a hip, youthful energy, complete with a retro arcade machine that's free to play—a fun nostalgic touch. They also provide complimentary coffee in the lobby every morning until 10:30am, which is a thoughtful perk we really appreciated.
Check-in was smooth and pleasant, thanks to the friendly and welcoming front desk staff. The café and breakfast area are conveniently located in the lobby on Level 1. While there aren't any convenience stores immediately nearby, the hotel has its own well-stocked snack corner offering tidbits, instant noodles, canned drinks, and bottled beverages—all at surprisingly reasonable prices.
Our room was spacious and clean, with a lovely balcony overlooking a peaceful sea view. The king-sized bed was super comfy, making it easy to rest well after a long day of exploring. One of the highlights was the large bathtub—perfect for a relaxing soak. The bathroom layout is well thought out, with a separate shower and toilet, adding both comfort and privacy.
They do provide bottled water in the room, but if you need more, there’s a self-service water dispenser available on each floor, which is convenient and eco-friendly.
The hotel also has a compact fitness center on Level 2. While the cardio options are limited (only two treadmills, a stationary bike, and one elliptical), they make up for it with a decent set of dumbbells and a functional cable machine. It’s sufficient for a light workout during your stay.
The only downside is the location—it’s a bit away from the main streets and popular tourist attractions, so you may need to plan for short rides or longer walks to get around. However, the trade-off is a quiet, restful environment that’s perfect for recharging.
Overall, Aloft Tainan Anping is a great choice for those who appreciate modern design, thoughtful amenities, and a slower, more peaceful pace. We'd definitely consider...
Read moreA Rock 'n' Roll Experience with Stunning Views at Aloft Tainan Anping
From the moment we stepped into Aloft Tainan Anping, we were immediately struck by its vibrant and distinctive atmosphere. The lighting, bar, music, and surrounding facilities all exuded a youthful and rock 'n' roll vibe that set the tone for our entire stay.
Upon checking in, we were thrilled to be upgraded to a top-floor sea view room. The view from the top floor was absolutely stunning, and on clear days, we could even see the sunset. This left us in a delightful dilemma—should we head to Yuguang Island or simply enjoy the sunset from our hotel room? We are incredibly grateful to the hotel for this wonderful surprise.
During our four-day stay, we enjoyed the hotel's breakfast every morning. It was particularly special during the Dragon Boat Festival, as we got to try traditional Taiwanese zongzi. The beef soup, a Tainan specialty, became a daily breakfast staple for us.
On our last day, we received a heartfelt card and gift from Keeven, one of the staff members. This thoughtful gesture truly highlighted the exceptional care and attention provided by the hotel.
Thanks again Aloft Tainan Anping for making an unforgettable stay to us. We look forward to returning...
