The hotel has some design flaws and proper maintenances are probably not done in routine. Service is hit and miss when recovery is needed.
Once leaving the elevator, the entire floor smells humid despite the fact there is a open courtyard in the middle. Room smells like mold with air condition on, no windows can be opened. When inquired for an air filter machine, we were given a dehumidifier that's claimed to have air filter functions (better than nothing). We ended up lighting candles to cover the smell. Did not bother to ask for room changes cause they were full and it's not likely other rooms are maintained differently.
Bathroom area is not properly designed. If you are more than 6 ft tall you are unlikely to have a smooth time taking a dump. The space given is so small that your head will likely hit the door when it's closed. Shower is not designed for non couples/family as there is just a curtain.
Took some complaints to get someone to go up to our room to clean the dehumidifier and the dust on the aircon where the air comes out, but the front desk simply wanted to waive you away by telling you the manager is already gone, how about have him speak with you tomorrow? I had to say "can't you send someone to go up there now to clean?" Cleaner was sent but didn't know what needs to be done. My friend end up just asking the cleaner to clean the dehumidifier cause aircon is likely difficult to clean and will drop dust on bed.
Told the front desk there was problem with one of the elevator that has weird noises, shaking and was immediately told it was already fixed as someone already told them. The elevator then locked someone in the following morning. The 4 elevators were also not interlocking with each other so you have to press every single button for all 4. Since it's not interlinked, one can be stopping at every floor cause everyone tapped (even when it's already overweight), not fun when you are on high floors.
Asked at the lounge do you guys replenish the radish buns for customers entering later since you guys are diverting members due too to many, was given a fun answer where the lady said it depends on how the chef feels. Hot chocolate is good.
Breakfast overall is good, but the hot water machine should be cleaned.
At check out the agent said that there were some small problems and claimed my welcome gift as a good will. I didn't even bother to continue a conversation with...

Read moreLocation seems great. Love the lobby with high-ceilings. Check in staff were friendly. But some services seem off given this has an international brand. And it's not a language or cultural thing. ||I don't think some of the staff know how to deal with international guests and understand truly the idea behind hospitality. Their tone can come off as being rather rude. Perhaps these staff need to travel more as well or just send them for better training on hospitality. ||Rented a car and needed to park in the driveway for 5 minutes because I left something in the room. The concierge/door person rushed out from the hotel. Thinking he was going to open my car door (as most gracious hotel staff would), instead he gave me a rather stern warning that I can't park there and insisted I park in the lot. And I already short of time. ||When requesting wine glasses for the room, they directed me to room services and I was told I can't have wine glasses unless I order wine. Having traveled all over the world staying at various properties, this is def a new one. ||Lastly, borrowing a couple of umbrellas to walk around town seem like I am applying for a job with top clearance at CIA. The desk needed my name, room number, copy of my ID, my phone number (local or foreign), what time am I returning them etc. It's only two umbrellas. If you don't trust me, why do you accept me as a guest at this hotel? ||Odd. Just odd. ||Not promoting a "customer is always right" mentality here. Just saying there's a better way to deliver a message esp in hospitality space. Don't keep pushing your point through to me. That's...
