Taitung Spice House Exotic Indian & Thai Cuisine — Restaurant in Taitung City

One of the best Indian restaurants in Taiwan, and certainly my favourite so far.

Everything is packed with spice and flavour, and the owner has obviously gone to great lengths to recreate an authentic taste, without compromising authenticity or changing anything to fit in with local tastes. I wish more restaurants would have the confidence do this.

Another plus: the service is great. This is one of the few restaurants in Taiwan where someone actually asked me if the food was okay shortly after receiving my meal and starting eating. Every restaurant worth its salt should do this in my opinion, but in Taiwan this seems to be the exception.

A great place for authentic Indian and Thai cuisine. Hard to find such fusion cuisine that is good at both and yet here it is, in a remote county. Both the cook and the owner had spent considerable amount of time at learning these cuisine from the host countries.

Best mutton curry I’ve had in a long time! A little more expensive than the other options but absolutely worth it, my partner got the chickpea curry and loved it also, very authentic! The meals came as a set with rice, naan & some fruit - after a long walk from the park it was the ideal amount of food to leave us happy and satisfied! The drinks were really good too, I’d recommend the Indian lemon tea! The staff were incredibly helpful, even getting us a taxi ordered to get back to our hotel. The owner was very friendly and gave us a great impression. Would 100% eat here again if we came back...
