Never had a bad experience here, even before they moved to their new location around the corner when they expanded to the current dine-in experience. It's my weekly guilty pleasure since I work nearby. Food is super-high quality and affordable, not to mention incredibly delicious. The owner and chef who is bilingual in English and Chinese personally selects fresh, locally-sourced ingredients. He really knows what he is doing. Having grown up in the restaurant business and worked at several 5-star restaurants in the USA for many years, he knows how to make a truly wonderful flat-crust pizza. This man lives and breathes pizza. I can't recommend it enough and pizza is officially my favorite food. Toppings are balanced in amount, yet not skimpy, though I prefer to add extra cheese (costs extra) and olives (free). The hamburgers are also very tasty with his own special sauce, but I would need two to fill me up and prefer to spend that money on his pizza. I've tried his salads as well and they are healthy and tastefully balanced with more than just a bunch of lettuce and the token tomato or cucumber. I got the chicken salad and it came with a satisfying amount of meat. If you have room, try his cookies, too. Absolutely delicious with just the right balance of softness and resistance, not to mention absolutely packed with...
Read moreMy new favorite Chicago style deep dish pizza in Taiwan! They also have legit thin crust Chicago style pizza as well, bringing back some old memories... Also surprisingly, BREVA dishes up excellent smashed burgers (becoming one of my favorite burgers as well now), along with tasty crispy homestyle fries and a house sauce to go with them. Get the double patty if you want a more American-sized burger, or single if you're pretending to be healthy. FYI a slice of a 9" deep dish or the burger with fries alone could be a reasonable meal.
Lucky for us owner and chef Brian (a real Chicago native!) has brought his extensive culinary chops out here to give us some authentic American flavors. 🤤👏
Update: They've moved around the corner into bright spacious new digs with lots of indoor seating and AC, still dishing up the same great food! Also you don't need to preorder the deep dish in advance(!), just 20-30 min wait now depending on the size. Besides the tried and true, I particularly enjoyed the 蜜蜂叮一下 thin crust this time with its simple combination of sweet, salty and spicy. The curry soup is also very nice, and you could always go salad if you don't want...
Read moreWe were excited to see both deep-dish Chicago and thin-crust pizza on the menu here. Two of our party ordered hamburgers and I chose the Vegetarian pizza. I was really looking forward to it, but it tasted bitter; in my opinion, perhaps adding lemon before putting the eggplant on the pizza could have cut the bitterness. The hamburgers tasted okay, a bit lackluster. The owner's wife is a florist with her own shop nearby, so some of the restaurant's decor is floral, and those bouquets and arrangements are lovely (It's obvious that she definitely has talent at floral arranging), but the decor/painting/tables is a mishmash, like the person deciding on the vibe of the restaurant couldn't quite decide what look or feel they were going for. With a bit more focus to some of the dishes and the decor, this restaurant holds...
