We love this hidden gem so much that we ate here four times during our stay. It was affordable, not crowded, and the shop's ambiance gives a countryside vibes. The first night, we had beef noodle soup and braised pork rice. Although the soup tasted a little bit too sweet for my liking, the meat was very tender. The one that surprised me was how delicious the braised pork rice was for its price. On the next day we tried the ramen and I had the one with kimchi. It was really delectable! Note however that the ramen leans more towards the Taiwanese style ramen and not the Japanese style. The scallion pancake is also a must try! I kinda regret we tried it too late but we're glad we still did because it was really delicious! Lastly, the owners are very accommodating and they speak English so communication would not be a problem. We would love to return here once we come...

I was traveling around taiwan for the better of 1.5 week. there are a lot of very good small family owned restaurants. This however is the only family restaurant that should keep their cooking in the family. Don’t eat here unless no other options are available.

Edit to owner’s reply: the noodles had no texture, soup was bland, toppings were basic and uninspiring. The vegetable and the tofu were carried by the wasabi sauce that wasn’t even good to begin with. The only good thing was the fried egg pancake. I couldn’t care to finish the rest of my noodles and my friends finished the rest of the food out of respect. Dined in today on At Alishan, most of the local restaurants are closed from 3-5pm to rest. They will only reopen after 5pm. We walked around and finally saw this Alishan Shin Shin restaurant that was still open. Walked in and sat down. We ordered the chicken fillet rice and beef stew rice that came with soup. I like the beef stew rice and the soup was very yummy. However the chicken fillet took around 10mins or slightly more to be served on the table. Despite it being late served, the lady boss was very friendly and apologetic for the delay. The chicken fillet was good. We found that the seats were a bit uneven on the ground.
