It was my pleasure to visit this restaurant again with good friends. Since it was my birthday month, there was a discount on my meal, as well as a free birthday cake. Giving my University identification, we were also able to acquire an additional discount. Overall, the relaxed and chill environment was great and we were able to spend a few hours their chatting and catching up.
Food: I found the quality and quantity food to be great. The food itself was tasty and everything was prepared fresh and was very delicious. In terms of the quantity, there was much more than I could finish. As there were three of us we ordered a set menu for three people, and there was more than we could eat. All three of us have good appetites, and yet there was some of the pizza and some of the salad that was taken away. As well, all of the desserts were too much for us to finish and we were allowed to package those to take the back with us.
Service: unfortunately, the service element is where this restaurant really suffers. In fact, we were required to use a QR code to access the menu and order all of our food through that method. There was no interaction with the servers until the online selection was completed. When the server did arrived, he sped through the order so quickly that we could hardly catch up with what he was saying. Additionally, if we wanted additional service such as refills of our drinks, we had to press a button to call a server to attend to our needs. While we were there quite a while, we waited for a long time, perhaps even over a half an hour, for our desserts to be brought to the table. In fact, the table next to us who had arrived after us, they had their desserts brought to them before ours had arrived. We had to use the service bell to ask again for our desserts to be brought to the table. When they arrived, they were incorrect. There is also a missing desert. We asked twice more and still did not receive it until the third time finally we received what we were missing. The service actually is quite poor here. I do believe that part of this is due to the automation and use of technology to take orders, with very little training and opportunities for the young servers to learn the skills necessary to take care of customer's appropriately. I do not blame the service themselves, as they are trying their best, I do believe.
Atmosphere: the atmosphere is fine. I cannot say a lot about this, as the restaurant was not that full. However there were a lot of people waiting when we were paying the bill. As such, there was a fair bit of a wait as we were trying to pay another for trying to find seating. Overall the ambiance was fairly quiet and subdued. There was plenty of opportunities for us to chat really, and we were not bothered a lot by the servers. That being said, this does influence the service score, just ignored. Yeah, the word here is IGNORED. The fact that we had to use a bell to get service was pretty ridiculous. The poor young service really didn't know how to handle several groups of customers at the same time.
In some, the food is fine. The portions were quite good. I would recommend this place if you have plenty of time and are not in a rush. If you are in a hurry and want to have a quick bite to eat this is not the place for you. I would also strongly encouraged to management to reduce the amount of technology being used and to focus more on training the staff. Does customers we should not have to handle all of the ordering by ourselves. If we have to pay a service fee on top of that, what is the...
Read moreA pricier option for the countryside, which is nice to have. A decent and worth-it experience for a special dinner, with some notable dishes that are definitely some of their best. This time we tried both their special meals for twos, one of which offers a nice selection of pastas, one of which is the tomato-based seafood pasta, and their seafood pizza, which is thin crusted and nicely cooked. The other special for two menu offers a grill, which we got a fish and chicken thigh combo, which are recommended.
Service is without smiles, but up...
