金色三麥 新竹竹北店 — Restaurant in Zhubei City

They have an assortment of everything here from pizza to hot pot, paella to roe rice. Surprisingly, it was all decent.

We really liked the pork trotters, perfectly fried and every piece edible. The spicy wingettes were nice too. I never had such tiny wings. It seemed like it would be a pain to eat but it was easy to get the meat out. One thing I'll say is some dipping sauce would be nice. It is very seasoned but too salty.

They have business lunch specials, one for each day of the week and other specials. The environment is clean and vast. There are TVs and even a stage. It's not as festive as the other locations but maybe that's a good thing.

The service was very good. The cashier was fine but everyone else was super nice. One kind-hearted girl even came out of the store to ask if we wanted a photo. New pub/restaurant in a new mall near my hotel. I was attracted by all the bottles on the walls, but surprisingly enough none were available for here or to go. I think the place is still learning the ropes and probably short staffed, because you had to order through an app, and at least half the menu was unavailable. Beer was limited to 4 styles, 3 lagers - honey blonde, amber/kellerbier and rye/Dunkel - and a Hefeweizen. I tried the Dunkel and kellerbier, both were good, but at about 250 Taiwanese dollars, a bit pricy. I ordered the fried oyster mushrooms, they were pretty good. Ambiance wasn't great, they seated me in what I would call the family section, where basketball was showing on a projector screen. In the next room a singer was butchering american classic songs.
