Concluding my trip to Taiwan, I had the pleasure of savoring delectable local cuisine with my team members. I always eagerly anticipate the unique Taiwanese culinary experiences, and this trip was no exception. The restaurant's charming decor evoked a sense of nostalgia, reminiscent of days gone by.
The traditional appetizers, including boiled chicken, roast duck, lobster salad, and squid roe, were absolute favorites of mine. The imperial soup infused with local herbs and black chicken offered a delightful way to cool down from the heat. While the stir-fried scallops with vegetables were decent, the standout was the remarkable abalone hotpot, where the abalone retained its tenderness, albeit with a subtle flavor.
I couldn't resist the herbal-steamed prawns, which paired wonderfully with a few sips of whiskey. The spicy steamed fish was an unexpected but delightful addition to the meal, adding a burst of flavors.
