This happened last night: if you don’t do anything else look at the receipt. 290 + 220 = 1,560 plus service charge. I didn’t pay that because I saw the problem and they changed it because I insisted.
Either Stanley’s Steakhouse has terrible point of sale system that can’t count or they have a problem with honesty (I’ve worked in hospitality and you can guess which I think is likely).
I’ve have been to Stanley’s Steakhouse in Hsinchu with friends and my steak wasn’t great, but my companions loved their burgers. By chance I ended up in Zhubei Stanley’s so I thought I’d try a burger. Until the point I got the check it was a great experience - the staff sensibly told me that that opened until ten (I came at about 8 20 pm), the server was very friendly, and my peanut burger was perfectly cooked and very tasty. Everything was really great.
As soon as i got the bill/check I saw that there was a problem, it just didn’t make sense. Somehow more than 1000 nt had been added to my total.
Normally, this is the kind of thing I’d report to head office but the Line QR code on the feedback doesn’t work so I can’t and we’re doing this publicly.
⚠️So if you go to Stanley Steakhouse check how much you’re paying before you hand them your card 💳.
Side note - when I pointed out the problem I just got a sorry in Chinese from the server (that’s kinda odd - no manager). The whole experience was, in end really unpleasant (a pity as the food and service was good). I would strongly recommend avoiding this...

Shortly after the starters were cleared we received our burgers which were freshly made and very tasty. They represented very good value for money. We left feeling full and satisfied. We went shopping afterwards but were interrupted by the immediate need to go to the bathroom several times. Looking back, the chicken on the salad was a bit pink but we assumed that it was due to the marinade or sauce that caused this color. We assumed that the reaction we both had within ten minutes of leaving was because undercooked chicken. This ruined what was otherwise a pleasant experience...

The restaurant called UNSOLICITED using a reservation number to question my review, trying to intimidate rather than resolve, not to mention the invasion of privacy and harassment. Completely unacceptable.

I was appalled by the behavior of a male server in training. When handing us our takeout bag, he rudely and repeatedly told my child to “back off” for no reason. The bag wasn’t dangerous, and his attitude was completely uncalled for.
