Toqi Teahouse — Restaurant in Dushanbe

We had a really good experience at this restaurant overall — the food was excellent, full of flavor and clearly made with care. The atmosphere was also great: vibrant, fun, and welcoming. It’s the kind of place you enjoy being in, whether you’re out with friends or on a casual date.

That said, what kept this from being a full five-star experience was the service. Unfortunately, we had the bad luck of being served by a lady who, compared to the rest of the staff, didn’t seem very enthusiastic about her job. When we arrived, she was standing in the corner with a bored expression, and although she did take our order, she did so with a serious face and not much patience.

We asked for a few extra minutes to decide, but instead of giving us space, she stayed right next to our table the whole time, making us feel a bit pressured and uncomfortable. The same happened towards the end of the meal — she returned a couple of times, almost rushing us to order more or ask for the bill.

It’s a shame, because while we were there, we noticed that the other tables were being attended by younger waitresses who were all smiling, friendly, and clearly enjoying their work. So it seems like our experience was not the norm, but rather bad luck with who happened to be assigned to our table.

Firstly, the food is truly delicious! I had the Kazan kebab and a beetroot salad. The kebab was so tender, and everything was so flavorful, I finished the whole plate although it was a big portion. The salad was delicious, very fresh and lots of walnuts and the best part, only a little drizzle of mayonnaise. Most places put too much mayonnaise, but this one was perfect and still flavorful. The portions here are big, I was too full. I also took away the baked cheesecake, it was divine, very creamy and not too sweet. I'm so glad I came to fix my car at the mechanic close by, it's the best meal I've had in Tajikistan! Also very friendly and fast service. The environment is nice too, very beautifully set up with little water features. Highly recommend...

Hello eveyone.I am currently visiting Dushanbe.My opinion it is one of the great places to be and visit for any tourist.Specially i would like to give a big thanks to the restaurant Toqi.This restaurant is very special and unique with the traditional food and design of the restaurant is best.The stuff are great and very welcoming.I would tell and offer to all to visit restaurant Toqi first since the food is great once again and you will have no regrets.The only place where you can try real Tajik food made from local and organic products.And to all of you who is visiting enjoy your stay and dont forget...
