Merve Restaurant — Restaurant in Dushanbe

The food was ok. I only had a small snack and a tea as I was not feeling well but wanted to ensure that I eat something to have energy to keep me going throughout my sightseeing day.

Everything seemed to go well until I had to pay the bill. I was given some change in coins. One of them seemed to me strange (different than somoni) . Therefore, I questioned it and I was reassured BOTH by the cashier AND the waiter that it was somoni. I thanked them and left only to discover afterwards that it was indeed foreign money, which meant that I paid for my meal about 50% more plus additional service charge added automatically. Obviously, I could not use the given change elsewhere.

Mistakes happen but to be reassured by the two employees that the change was given in the local currency whereas in fact it was NOT- that’s another story. As a result, I paid 150% of the expected bill. Very DECEITFUL and frankly - DISGUSTING . I wholeheartedly recommend everyone to AVOID this place...

I spent 7 days exploring Dushanbe and tried many restaurants — most of them had good food. Unfortunately, this was the worst dining experience my girlfriend and I had in all of Tajikistan. The atmosphere and service were nice, but the food was a big disappointment. We ordered a pizza, and it was honestly very low quality. The cheese tasted like it had no dairy in it at all — just oily and flavorless. We even asked for some sauce just to be able to eat a few bites, but we still couldn’t finish it.

Dear management: If you’re reading this, it’s really a shame that with all the investment and effort you’ve clearly put into creating such a beautiful space, the food quality doesn’t match. I truly hope that next time I visit Tajikistan, I’ll find that you’ve made...

I liked that they have delicious food n watermelon juice. Just u should order without ice to feel the real taste of watermelon. They have separate space for guest who smokes and who doesnt. They have high chair for babies. Friendly stuff. Music is not to high so you could have a nice conversation with your guests. The restroom is clean. Unfortunately I didn't pay attention do they have a changing table or not in their restroom. If someone knows please let us know. Otherwise I will check by myself next time when I will...
