I recently visited CCM Maisara Bar that I found to be quite unique. The first thing I noticed was that the staff used Swahili as their primary language, which made communication in English a bit difficult. There was however a few staff members who tried the language and managed to understand our order. However, this didn't detract from the experience, as the food spoke for itself. The restaurant specialized in preparing a variety of delicious foods on an open fire, including sea food, beans, chicken, and beef. All the dishes were cooked to perfection and bursting with flavor. I particularly enjoyed the sea food, which was fresh and perfectly seasoned. One thing to note is that the restaurant tends to get quite busy, especially when there are sports matches being televised. However, the atmosphere is lively and fun, and the staff always manage to keep up with the demand. Overall, I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys a good braai or barbecue meal. Although communication can be a bit difficult for those who don't speak Swahili, the variety of delicious dishes more than makes up for it. The sea food was a standout for me, but everything else was fantastic as well.

DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU ARE A TOURIST. You will get wildly overcharged. This place is known for local food so we decided to try it. The food was very bland. We ordered goat and chicken which were grilled. The goat was very gamey and there was no seasoning on it except salt. Likewise for the chicken. The beans also did not have any herbs and it was not flavorful. There was no menu or prices and we regret not asking beforehand because the waitress stated it was 50,000 for our meals and two drinks but locals pay half of that. The place is somewhat sanitary but there are a lot of stray cats that constantly harass you while eating and try to get onto the table. The taxis outside also double and triple the price if you want to go back to stone town as a foreigner. Do not waste your...
