Fahari of the Grind is a restaurant with delicious, traditional dishes, but with a modern touch. I loved everything from the Fahari salad to the goat meat menu and vegan to the fine desserts ...
It is a place for adventurous tourists in Zanzibar who appreciate and understand gastronomy beyond satisfying their hunger with "something, anything". Both parties are looking for culinary dishes made from fresh aromatic ingredients whose source is locally sourced. I am glad that here they have this selection filter between the End Customer and the Honest Producers that they discovered on the island and with whom they have established partnerships to obtain quality and fresh ingredients. They do not just buy products, through this they support each other to make a leap towards evolution in the community of the locals.
For me it is a more special place in a green and very relaxed environment with a rich charge represented by nature, ocean and beach. Here on the beach it seems like the clouds are resting on the ground and the sunset is magical. It seems like a place where tranquility...
Read moreWhat a nice surprise! I spent in total 12 months in Zanzibar and visting this restaurant was one of the highlights of my experience. We found it by accident. Exhausted and a bit stressed as we were driving off the main routes a bit lost in nowhere. The owner immediately sensed our energy and needs, with a calm but powerful welcoming voice, she made us feel like home and relaxed. The menu is super original and the food is very tasty too. But above all the ambience, the genuine care of the owners who were tired after the whole day of work (we came late) yet they did their best to give us attention, share some insights, make us feel like honoured guests not just like some extra customers. The sunset view along the ocean and beautiful garden with baobabs... I could go on. This is magical. I can sense the consciousness, presence, care and love planted in this place. If you hang out around Kizimkazi, this...
Read moreFahari Off the Grid has become my favorite place on the island of Zanzibar. The restaurant is located in Kizimkazi, a hidden little gem. I spent a day there with my kid swimming and relaxing. The location is simply stunning. After a refreshing swim, we lounged on the grass and enjoyed delicious lemonades. My favorite was the "Electric Lemonade." My kid explored the beautiful space, which has plenty of room and lots of things for children to discover. The staff is super friendly, especially with kids. We stayed to watch the sunset and have dinner. I had the vegan dish "Roasted Eggplant Tapenade and Charred Cabbage" - it was amazing! Finally, a super delicious vegan option that isn't just chips. My kid had coconut rice and with chicken, which he loved. I highly recommend coming to Fahari Off the Grid to enjoy a day of relaxation, incredible food and drinks, and the most...
