I’m giving a review because the owner was so keen to get my feedback after I left. I am a westerner so all of my opinions are based on what we value. I understand this may be a cultural mismatch in some areas.
Overall the place felt confused to me. The cafe area feels like auntie’s living room with random junk and suitcases everywhere. Food and drinks were nice but definitely expensive for what you got. The staff were very nice and polite but apart from Uncle I spoke to when I left I didn’t feel massively welcome. The kitsch decor, plates and glasses were cute. Cafe WiFi was perfectly suitable for my work and I took a long zoom call with no issues, which was a definite plus. The craziest thing was the pricing around coworking. This was enough to put someone off when they came in and I only wish I had asked when I arrived so I could have done the same. It works like this: 100THB for first hour of coworking space (note: not the cafe) and 40 thereafter. In the cafe it is 40THB per hour to have a power outlet, irrespective of how much you spend on food and drink. I only stayed because by the time I payed for everything and sat down it didn’t make sense for me to leave.
To improve I would do the following: Offer one 4 hourly and one daily rate for coworking, and offer one free or heavily discounted drink to people paying for the coworking. Simple and you feel less like a nuisance. Customers will also feel like they are getting more value and be happier. Just let customers in the cafe use the electricity. I do not get the 40THB per hour charge to use electricity. It’s not that expensive to charge a laptop and you have already paid for food and drinks to be there. This way if people want to be in the cafe for one hour you would still probably make the best part of 100THB and they won’t be put off by the price of everything and leave straight away. Bring the price of drinks down a little bit. This will attract more people in in the first place. Make sure the place is cleaner and tidier and get rid of the family junk. It felt like it hadn’t been vacuumed in a while and it was just a bit messy and disorganised.
If you want to brand yourself as a coworking space then you need to be competitive with other ones otherwise people will just go elsewhere. As it stands I would not...
Read moreI chanced upon this place last week on Google while trying to look for a nice co-working space with strong wifi and drinks, and that's when Hangar 33 came up on the search results. Looking at the reviews, I decided to give it a try. And I was definitely not disappointed!
The cafe is on Level 1 and the main work space is on Level 3. Although it wasn't a huge space, but it was still very conducive for both work and studies. Wifi was great and there was free flow of coffee and snacks that you can help yourself to - this is included in the starting package price which was very affordable. If you would like better drinks or pastries, the cafe sells those as well.
This was such a gem of a place that I unknowingly stayed for 5 hours working without realising so much time has passed. Owners were also really friendly and I appreciated the cleanliness and positive vibes radiating from the cafe and space.
Will definitely return and will highly recommend to anyone around the area looking for a great...
