Bake Me Tender — Restaurant in Bang Khun Kong Subdistrict Administrative Organization

I was thrilled to spot it on the menu. At last, Fish & Chips made with real cod right on the outer rims of Bangkok! I do not need to head into the traffic jam city or go to far far Pattaya for a generous serving of genuine English Fish & Chips no more. I was so happy too soon and ordered it right away. And the dish was served. First impressions, and when compared to what I normally have, same price halved size. Good effort from them though, serving it on a piece of print making the likes of UK street vendors. The chips were delightful, crispy outsides with a soft, fluffy center. And things started downhill from there. The fish, somehow tasted like it has been frozen since the ice age. It is cod, but it seems to have lost that moist, sweet taste of the sea. The tartar sauce, err… it did not come with that. A different kind of sauce was served and if that was intended to be tartar, then it was tartar juice. I thought, maybe their delicious looking cakes will make me happy, my small hope that something could save the day. Well…… their meringue on the Lemon Meringue Pie could be used as a sponge to wipe windows. Meringue should not be spongy. And a well whisked meringue should not taste like eating the whites on a sunny side up. The lemon filling was rich and well-balanced, blending sweetness with a tangy citrus kick. Sadly, the overall flavor was tarnished by the bottom crust, which had an oddly rancid taste that threw everything off. It is a lovely place, I truly believe they have some outstanding dishes to offer. But food luck was not on my side. We racked up a bill of more than 1k, credit cards not accepted here. My birthday's cake, my father birthday's cake, my mother birthday's cake, my bro birthday's cake for 2 years straight was bought from this bakery, which is also a cafe/restaurant. Best coffee cake my mom ever had, less sweet more aromatic. Banoffee is my bro favorite sweet, crunchy, and bananaie. Chocolate is a must buy. Lemon meringue pie is more sour than sweet, very refreshing. The baked alaska is nice, seafood ravioli is my favourite, carrot cake taste very cinnamonie and quite famous. Next August is my brother birthday, so yeah see...

I had Almond Lemon Flourless cake and it was good! Not too sweet. Perfect for Diabetic people. However, the lemon scent is a bit weak. I also ordered Spinach crepe because I never had this anywhere else and it turned out to be perfect! The spinach was stir fried with garlic and herbs. It goes perfectly with the soft crepe that roll with it.

Small hidden gems on Ratchapruek/ Rama 5 round about. Worth checking out. (Weekends...
