The location is somewhat in the quieter areas of Nonthaburi, and Nonthaburi itself is a suburb of Bangkok. Because we went there for dinner, it was quite dark and I was somewhat skeptical about this place. Well, I was completely wrong about my first impression. The interior is well-designed and has a comfortable atmosphere. There are about 50 seats with really nice bamboo chairs (real heavy bamboo chairs) and sofa-seating throughout. The owner is Thai but speaks excellent English and very friendly. His brother is the executive chef for a new restaurant at the Marriott Surawongse, but apparently the owner is more an operator than a chef himself. The chef here makes amazing western dishes; we tried the duck confit, spaghetti with mushrooms and black pork slices, mushroom and truffle cream soup, broccoli gratin, as well as a slice of their coconut cake and orange cake. Every single order was beautifully presented, real hearty food cooked with pride. The lamb shank stew was perfect with proper French style creamy mash.
