Was not a very warm welcome to this cafe, unable to sit at a table and look at the menu, but had to order at the front counter prior to sitting. As I usual when visiting a coffee shop for the first time, I ordered an Americano. In addition I ordered a slice of banana cake.
The coffee was awful. Very weak, tasting like flavoured water and with a price of 80 baht, very poor value for money. You can go over the road to Cafe Amazon and for 55 baht get their version of Americano, which is almost strong enough to melt the spoon.
The crowning glory however came when the manager/owner or whomever came over and told me I had to move my chair back to the other side of the table (I had moved it to afford a better view of the street) as it was violating social distancing, as it was "too close" to a chair at the next table. When I pointed out that there was nobody sitting there, he replied someone could walk in a choose that seat! I noted there was not one other customer on the premises, leaving 20-30 empty seats! If this guy had been interested in good customer service, he could have simply moved the seat from the other table to a distance further away from me, but obviously he wanted to make a point that he disapproved of a customer moving a chair to a more comfortable position. I could have pointed out that social distancing laws relate to people, not pieces of furniture, but I felt there was no point, as there would be no return custom.
On a slightly positive note, the banana cake was quite moist and tasty, although nothing exceptional.
Certainly will not be returning as there are several other establishments nearby serving decent flavoured and strong coffee at half the price of this one and with better customer...
Read moreAbsolutely phenomenal! This place rocks—no, scratch that—it soars! I've been in the area for several days, and let’s just say this spot has practically become my second home. I’ve sampled my way through a hefty lineup of their coffees (each one on point) and worked my way through a good chunk of the menu. And let me tell you, as a Texan of 20 years, their huevos rancheros is as...good...as...it...gets. Full stop. Absolutely stupid delicious.
Oh, and do yourself a favor—order the Cowboy Jok (โจ๊ก). It’s a brilliant fusion of flavors that just works. The staff? Top-notch. Huge shoutout to มุก—someone give that girl a raise! The place itself is spotless, stylish, and effortlessly cool, like a little slice of New Mexico tucked right into the heart of Bangkok.
Hats off to owners Gary and Michelle for creating something truly special—this isn’t just a café; it’s an experience. Friendly, exceptional, and unforgettable. 10/10. Will absolutely...
Read moreIt was love at first sight with this cafe. The atmosphere is fantastic, the menu is varied and adaptable for vegetarians, and the baked goods are to die for (hellooooo, pumpkin spice cheesecake!). 😍 Their coffee is fantastic, as well. Their hot mocha is one of the best I’ve had in Bangkok, thanks to the bitterness of the chocolate. Their seasonal CNY drink, The Golden Pig, was also super delicious. Of course, you can’t go wrong with peanut butter + coffee. 🤤 The staff also are kind, helpful, and in good spirits. The music is kept quiet enough for easy conversation. The cafe is spacious and “instagram-worthy”, lol. In fact, it’s through an Instagram ad that I even found out about this place. Anyway, it’s definitely a place I’ll be visiting more regularly from here on out. Supporting an expat-owned business is...
