Flavours of India in Thailand—what can I say? It's a takeaway titan that has redefined my curry-eating experience in the Land of Smiles. Over the course of several orders, they've delivered curry nirvana straight to my door, making me feel like royalty on a naan-strewn throne.
The Tikka Masala? A velvety, spice-laden delight that whispers sweet nothings to your taste buds. Butter Chicken? A masterpiece of creamy indulgence, each mouthful a testament to the beauty of comfort food done right. The Mutton Rogan Josh is a carnivore’s dream—succulent, rich, and imbued with layers of flavour that make you grateful for slow cooking. And don’t get me started on the vegetarian dishes. They’re so good, I almost considered going full veggie... briefly. Each dish bursts with vibrancy and texture, proving that vegetables can be the stars of the show too.
The experience? Smooth. As velvety as a Lexus gliding along the A338 on a sunny Bournemouth morning. And just as satisfying—though you don’t need to stop at Richmond Hill roundabout to enjoy this ride.
Of course, the Balti House in Southbourne is still the champion of my heart—the Messi of curries, if you will. But Flavours of India has claimed the title for the best I’ve eaten in Thailand, which is no small achievement in Bangkok’s fiercely competitive food scene.
Final score? Drumroll, please… 38 out of 40 poppadoms. Flaky, crisp, and utterly glorious poppadoms, I might add. Flavours of India, you’ve set the bar sky-high for takeaways—an absolute cracker of a...
Read moreWe enjoy the food there. I personally think that some dishes are too sweet to be Indian food. May be the cook think we would like them sweet?
We ordered chai. Non sweet (okay, not so authentic). It turned out great. The best in Thailand so far. They probably brewed it from scratch because it would take them a good 20-30 minutes to make one.. so if you are a big fan of masala chai please order it before hand. The rasmalai is not really up to my personal standard (well I only had tried once before and I think it’s far better than served here). Here is quite hard and flaky.
Nan (we had regular, garlic, cheese and the other one which was not nan but thicker) is okay but we have had it better elsewhere. Chicken tandoori is soso. Masala, curry and the other (don’t remember the name) are all good except some of them are quite sweet.
Still, overall experience here is quite good.. not as good as some Indian restaurant in pahurad/banglumpoo area.. still I kinda recommend this place. You don’t have to get inside Bangkok and still can find this good Indian restaurant with a parking space.. how nice is that?!
Sorry about all (except the chicken tandoori which was the first dish served) photos taken in a very bad stage of food left on plate.. none of us in the party of six loves taking food photo.. we kinda dig in as soon as the dishes placed...

In my quest for Indian cuisine in Thailand, I stumbled upon the gem that is Flavours of India. Despite its modest size, the restaurant boasts charming decor that sets the stage for a delightful culinary experience.
What caught my attention was the multicultural aspect of the staff – hailing from Burma yet proficient in fluent Hindi. Their warmth and hospitality added a personal touch to the dining experience, creating a welcoming atmosphere.
The true star of the show, however, was the food. Every dish served at Flavours of India exuded the authentic taste of Indian cuisine. From the aromatic spices to the rich flavors, it was a true culinary journey reminiscent of the flavors back home.
The small yet tastefully decorated space, coupled with the friendly staff and the authentic taste of India, made my visit to Flavours of India a memorable one. If you find yourself in Thailand craving the true essence of Indian cuisine, this restaurant is...
