This is one of my favorite restaurants in Bangkok. It is really unique. Nestled in the Le Meridien Hotel, in the middle of the green nature of the Windmill Golf Course, where you can play in the night as well.
The hotel itself is great and has a nice bar with live music. If you like, you can even spend the day by the pool without being a hotel guest. Parking is no problem, even valet parking is available.
But let's talk about FAVOLA, the Italian restaurant, directed by chief Danilo from northern Italy. He has an impressive appearance and he walks around from time to time to talk to the guests. I like his very dry and ironic humor.
All dishes are outstanding, real Italian style. He made me a real talian Safran risotto and a medium Filet on top, served directly in a copper pan by the table. Absolutely delicious. I first tried to order the Filet with French fries and he replied: This is not McDonald's! Lol....
We normally have a Burrata garden salad, a pizza bread and then some Spaghetti or even a fish. No problem for Thai people to eat there, coz Italy is a mediterrean country and they are used to fish and seafood.....
Of course they have a huge selection of wines, including an indoor wine cellar. Nicely decorated inside with aircon and comfortable chairs and even private rooms for families or business talks.
But the real highlight for me is the covered outdoor seating with ceiling fans. The view is breathtaking, the chairs are super cosy and the tables at the far end, I am even allowed to smoke a cigar.
This restaurant, the kitchen and its ambience makes it for me the best restaurant east of Asok....
Last but not least, and my followers know that, it's not only the kitchen and the ambience, but also the staff that makes it a wonderful dinner evening. They are all super friendly, attentive and in their thai style very welcoming.....
Go there and enjoy, you will love it.....
Ohhh, a very last thing: prices are really reasonable and you get 10% discount with your Marriott...
Read moreThis attractive restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating and romantically dim lighting (if the need for some squinting is ignored - and some tables were just too dark for elder eyesight).
Truffle (both black and white) risotto and pastas are on offer, along with other specials, including a 6,000 baht steak. The menu lists starters, pastas/risottos, wood fired thin crust pizzas as well as meat and some fish dishes. There was an ambitious, curated wine menu - international although heavily Italian - and also a separate menu of cocktails, beers and some hard stuff. The dessert menu also presented 4 classic Italian cheeses and 10 grappas.
We enjoyed sophisticated, subtle but clear flavours and good quality ingredients in dishes created by an Italian chef from the Torino area who was happy to visit each table to push his (mainly black) cache of truffles (the white being much more expensive). A mature Italian gentlemen would later stop at the tables enjoying truffles.
On our first visit we stuck to old favourites of pizza (extra crispy, as requested) and lasagne, a surprisingly large portion - impressively delicate and the best we’ve enjoyed in a long while (including during a touristy week in Italy last year) - but unfortunately served lukewarm.
Seeing us peering at the bill, they finally brought over a little light. Overall, service did not match the quality of the food.
On our second visit during our second stay at this gorgeous Meridien hotel, service was much better, in fact excellent. There was no attempt to push truffles, all dishes had good, fresh ingredients and were delicious. Looking forward to returning on...

Dining at Favola felt like stepping into a little corner of Italy—quiet, comforting, and beautifully refined. Nestled inside Le Méridien Suvarnabhumi, the restaurant is surrounded by nature and golf course views, making it feel worlds away from the city.
The food? Absolutely satisfying. From the freshly baked focaccia to the handmade pasta, every dish was thoughtfully prepared with high-quality ingredients and balanced flavors.
The service was warm and attentive—never intrusive, just genuinely welcoming. It’s the kind of place where you can slow down, enjoy every bite, and truly feel taken care of.
Highly recommended for those looking for an elegant, relaxing dinner in a lush setting—not far from the airport, but far...
