Bang Khun Thian is an old district a good hour south west of Bangkok. It is one of the major regions of aquaculture thatâs filled with lots and lots of prawn farms. There are many big seafood restaurants here and they range from massively trendy ones sitting over water to rustic ones lined along the roadside that have not changed much since the beginning. Just driving along Bang Khun Thian towards the mangrove coastline, one will be spoilt for choice. Beachy CafÃĐ is one that we been to recently and it has a lot pack into a restaurant. There are walkways over water leading to platforms and pavilions, there are paddle boats and canoes for guest to venture all over their massive pond. Private rooms are available for booking, and there is a stage area for live music in the night. A mini playground lets the young play, and picturesque spots everywhere for social videos and stills. The feature is the atmosphere. All the tables sit on platforms about a meter above a lake.
We drove an hour each way to get there. I wouldn't do that again. All the Thai people I had dinner with agreed that there was better food to be had at similar restaurants, but at the same time, everyone seemed to enjoy themselves.
They have a variety of frozen drinks, ice cream floats, flavored sodas, etc that was impressive. We each had something different, and every drink was a treat.
Almost forgot... they have Duck shaped paddle boats; my girlfriend's brother in law took his kids for a ride. They also have a sandy playground...
