Rim Khong restaurant — Restaurant in Chiang Rai Province

Rim Khong can be so much more than it is. It’s got a great location and multiple levels overlooking the Mekong. The food is ok, but the service for us was a challenge. This challenge is not due to the language barrier, but due to things we ordered not arriving, and then having to prompt the staff to go and get it.

We had stir fried broccoli, stir fried pork and pepper, rice, French fries and a couple of beers. The fries came out first (win), then the broc and rice, but then the pork was 20 minutes later by which time the rice was cold. Beer I had ordered didn’t come at all, so we asked again and then it arrived pronto.

I still recommend Rim Khong, but just expect to manage the service to get...

Everything was nice food and view but the service sucks there were 3 waitresses at that moment I ask one of them what’s this food the first girl didn’t know, so the second girl came and blamed the first girl that why you don’t know this something like that and she explained to me what it was. The third girl was extremely rude she just suddenly walked to my table and said "It’s on the menu, read it on the menu" ???? girl there were 6 people but we only had two menus, my mom said "there were only 2 menus how could she know that, if all of us had menus then we could read from the menu" the third girl said " there is English descriptions under the foods’ name" she stared at my mom in the angry way then my mom was like saying that she couldn’t speak like this something like that yeah, this was my experience and I’d never...

Prices were high and food was average. We tried the fried pork ribs salad and the kale and crisp pork. The salad was made up mostly of sliced shallots in a vinegar and chilli powder marinade, with a few raw beans on the side and few slices of cucumber. The ribs were chopped into bits and too dry. The kale and crisp pork had very little pork, and the kale was chewy stalks, almost no leaves. At THB 180 it was a disappointing meal. A much better option is Pad Thai Baan...
