Highway Cafe — Restaurant in Chon Buri Province

Updated Rating: Second visit - chicken burger still tasty, fries good, watermelon smoothie fresh, staff friendly - but reduced to 3 stars due to the horrendous music. The worst hip hop imaginable played at ear splitting levels inside and out. The type of hip hop that's just some guy swearing to a beat box.

Totally out of chatacter for an 80's style diner, and probably the reason I was the only customer when all the other restaurants along the beach were full.

Fun, American diner design, beach front location, good burger and fries, cool 80's music, what's not to like?

It's newly opened though, and has a few small issues ....

The order desk has nowhere for the menus, so we all dropped them trying to juggle the drinks, food and specials menus.

The car park has a soft gravel surface, meaning I could not park my large motorcycle there (had to park elsewhere and walk). It's OK for light scooters only.

Food is freshly prepared, but takes a while to arrive.

The chicken burger was delicious, lightly spiced and well presented, but quite small.

The music was mostly cool 80's stuff in keeping with the design.

Disappointed and Concerned About Food Safety I’ve been to Highway Cafe Bang Saen three times now. The first two visits were decent, but this third experience was not only disappointing—it raised serious concerns about their food handling practices.

When the fries arrived, they were freezing cold and barely a handful. I politely asked for fresh ones. What came next was shocking: they simply refried the old batch and served them again, leaving them crispy and hollow. I raised the issue once more, and then exact same fries were returned for the third time—this time completely burnt.

This is not just bad service; it raises questions about their approach to food safety. Serving reheated food multiple times is not only unprofessional but potentially dangerous. Coupled with the dismissive attitude of the staff—one of whom spoke good English but showed no interest in resolving the issue—this experience was unacceptable.

This kind of disregard for quality and safety should not happen in any restaurant. I cannot recommend this place, and I urge others to think twice before...

Wow!!!! This place was amazing!!! I had the Love burger and it has to be the best burger I’ve ever eaten. I also had the Carmel milkshake which was also very good! The seat was extremely comfortable and the staff were beyond kind. I came because of The Heart Killers and my exceptions were beyond met! The interior is beautiful and exactly like the show. Every corner of the place is very aesthetically pleasing. If you’re a fan of delicious burgers or tasty milkshakes or GMMTV then I would 1000% recommend taking the trip over here. You will definitely not regret it. And plus if you are into The Heart Killers then it will feel like you were transported into the show which was an...
