For the 599+ menu buffet there is a nice variety of menus and the food is great the fish is fresh. For those who prefer esan style food there is Jaew sauce and salmon with spicy plara. There is seafood dip for those who love spicy. The restaurant lets you scan a QR code to order via their app. The green tea soft cream is good, vanilla-not so good. The buffet prices do not include drinks, service or vat so for the 500 baht you will probably end up paying at least 650 per person net.
The service is ok, the servers have sometimes confused food and tables. At peak hours the order of food may not be appropriate, it took 15 minutes to start serving, sashimi came standing way before its seafood sauce, the Shabu pot took 45 minutes to arrive on the table.
The 350 Baht menu has a limited selection and no sashimi, however it does have a spicy salon roll for those who like raw fish.
A la carte dining experience, we were seated within the same area. They give you complimentary edamame and fried fish skin. The sashimi came way earlier than the additional utensils and rest of the food. It took around half an hour for grilled salmon and tempura to arrive.
Why 4 stars then? In food delivery apps, they offer sets of sashimi with sushi. About 90% of the many times ordered, the salmon sushi will stink thus inedible, while the salmon sashimi will be very good. They should get 2 stars for delivery. Consistently bad sushi, regardless of feedback, for at least every...
Read moreSO RUDE! Why would anyone ever go there.
Went with my wife, her cousin and her fiancé and good friend. They had helped my wife and I with many things and we wanted to treat and thank them. Knowing I have a medical condition where I have a limited diet, I knew I might only be able to eat plain rice from their menu. Instead of letting me enjoy the company of my wife and friends while they ate, the waitress and manager wanted me to sit alone at a different table out of fear that I would steal some of their all you can eat bites of Poison (To me).
Shamed and embarrassed that I could not ask my friends and family to leave, I left the restaurant to get a drink from the convenience store. On my return, and as I waited in the lobby for over 30 minutes, the manager, the three host, and a half dozen waitresses refused to acknowledge me. But it seems that their manners are consistent. A family of 7 came in about 20 minutes before their posted hours and they were told they could not have the advertised buffet. They left.
My only pleasure about this experience is that I brought two very hungry Royal Thai Marines to eat. Their refrigerator will be...
Read moreThe only problem is, once you go to Oshinei, you cannot stop going because the dishes are so delicious and you start making plans to go back the following day/week.
Ok, here is the review.
Oshinei, is very hard to get to if you don't have a car,
Why go to Japan to taste authentic Japanese food, when you have this perfect Japanese restaurant.
The buffet costs 300, or 500 baht for a 2 hour all you can eat option.
The 500 baht option gives you an option of around 100 dishes to choose from refill drink option is a out 30 Baht for soft drinks.
The total bill will be around 1,200 baht for 2 people.
You have to use an app on your phone to place your order of food that usually arrives with 2 mins of ordering.
Oshinei can be quite full at the weekends but is well worth the wait.
Another Oshinei is located in Roi-et, however, the one here in Khon kaen is much more better from a taste point of view.
Staff are very helpful and attentive.
10 out...
