The food was tasty and reasonably priced. The restaurant is right on the ocean and the lighting was spectacular when we arrived around sunset. The wait staff was friendly and attentive. For the 4 dishes pictured and tom pret thalee soup (not pictured, but excellent!) and 2 big bottles of Leo beer and 1 bottle of water the bill was 1,510 baht. I recommend the tom pret thalee soup. It’s a signature southern Thai soup that is similar to Tom Yum soup with other herbs like lemongrass with a hint of sweetness.
We sat outdoors on the pier that is connected to the restaurant. It was great except for the mosquitos. My recommendation is that you come prepared with bug repellent. They have the burning mosquito coils if you ask, though. I gave 4-stars because they served us the clam platter with having more than half of the clams empty, which is easily noticeable in the picture. To me it seemed like they tried to cover this up by hoping we wouldn’t notice because it was dark outside and also by putting cloves of garlic in the empty shells. My fiancé asked the waiter if they would discount the price of the clams, which I believe they did.
I also enjoyed the fried Sea Bass and I would recommend this to anyone, westerner or Thai.
It was a good enough experience that I would...
Read moreLaem Hin seafood restaurant in Phuket is not the easiest place to locate. You'd probably need your own transportation to take you there.
Located on the sea, this place reminds me of the retro seafood restaurants from yesteryears. Furnishings and the setup looks tired but with possess a traditional feel.
We were here for lunch at 2pm, there were hardly any guests at all. We ordered quite a lot of items to sample. We tried the crabmeat ball, the Thai otah wrapped in banana leaf, broccoli with prawns, a fried fish, shell clams with garlic n chillies, squid with Salted egg and watermelon juice and a beer. If was quite a feast 😋...
The taste of the food were rather underwhelming, and not as intense as I would expect of Thai food. The fried fish did stand out, though. The wrapped otah was also quite nice.
Price wise, this is not an expensive place. You pay reasonable price for all the fresh seafood. Service was also great, quick and diligent.
Ambience of the place is surely a winner. Fronting the sea, it gives a good vibe when dining here. Definitely worth a try if you are looking for...

We visited the restaurant, which is beautifully located right by the sea, offering a stunning view of the charming Coconut Island with all its natural beauty and pristine beaches. The atmosphere was calm and perfect for enjoying a special seafood meal.
We started our experience with the famous Thai dish, fried rice with shrimp, which was delicious and full of authentic Thai flavors. We also tried the large Thai oysters, which were incredibly fresh with a great taste and perfect texture.
For the main course, we had the seabass, which came in a large portion and looked very appetizing. Although it was well-cooked, the texture of the fish was a bit firm, and I couldn’t finish it. Nevertheless, the presentation was nice, and the taste would be appreciated by fans of this type of fish.
Overall, it was a pleasant experience, and the location of the restaurant was truly amazing. The view of the sea and Coconut Island directly across from the restaurant added a special touch to our meal, making the whole experience...
