Friend House Food & Drinks — Restaurant in Ko Lanta Yai

Kennen und lieben gelernt habe ich das "Friend House" und seine Eigentümer bereits vor einigen Jahren in 2016. Der Besitzer Louis und seine Frau Safa sind absolut liebenswert und sehr zuvorkommend. Ich hatte das Vergnügen meine neu gewonnen Freunde in 2018 erneut besuchen zu können. Dieses mal in einer der Hauseigenen Unterkünfte, welche zu diesem Zeitpunkt eine bambushütte mit eigenem Badezimmer war. Zwischenzeitlich gibt es neuere und modernere Unterkünfte, die man vor Ort buchen kann. Der Dritte Besuch bei meiner "Thai Familie" war 2022.

Das Essen ist sehr sehr lecker und absolut zu empfehlen. Safa beherrscht die Thailändische Küche sehr gut aber auch der Burger und die restlichen Gerichte sind zu empfehlen. Es gibt nichts was nicht gut war. Die besten Früchte smoothies zaubert Louis hinter seiner Theke mit einer Leichtigkeit. Hier werden nur frische Früchte verwendet, die nach Bedarf nachgekauft werden. So ist der Geschmack immer garantiert.

Preislich ist das Restaurant auf street food Niveau und damit günstig bei sehr guter Qualität.

Ist man öfter vor Ort und lernt die beiden etwas kennen, dann hat man die Möglichkeit sich auf der Wand im Restaurant malerisch zu verewigen. So hab ich bereits drei mal die Wand im Restaurant zu meiner Leinwand machen dürfen.

Durch die entkriminalisierung von cannabis 2022 hat man nun auch die Möglichkeit verschiedene Arten an cannabis oder bereits fertig gerollte joints vor Ort zu kaufen. Hierbei wird allerdings nicht nir verkauft sondern auch gut beraten und auf die Bedürfnisse der Kunden eingegangen.

Alles in allem ist das "Friend House" ansoluz zu empfehlen und ein echter Geheimtipp für alle, die gutes Essen lieben.

I got to know and love the "Friend House" and its owners a few years ago in 2016. The owner Louis and his wife Safa are absolutely lovely and very accommodating. I had the pleasure of visiting my newfound friends again in 2018. This time in one of the house's own accommodations, which at the time was a bamboo hut with its own bathroom. In the meantime there are newer and more modern accommodations that can be booked on site.

The third visit to my "Thai family" was in 2022.

The food is very tasty and I definitely recommend it. Safa masters the Thai kitchen very well, but also the burger and the other dishes are also recommended. There isn't anything that wasn't good. Louis conjures up the best fruit smoothies behind his counter with ease. Only fresh fruits are used here, which are bought later as required. So the taste is always guaranteed.

The restaurant is priced at street food level and is therefore cheap with very good quality.

If you are there more often and get to know the two, then you have the opportunity to immortalize yourself on the wall in the restaurant. So I've already been able to turn the wall in the restaurant into my canvas three times.

With the decriminalization of cannabis in 2022, you now have the option to buy different types of cannabis or already rolled joints locally. However, this does not just mean selling, but also good advice and responding to the needs of the customers.

All in all, the "Friend House" is recommended and a real insider tip for everyone who loves good food.

The food tasted great, but the service could be much better. Before our food arrived the table next to us received their food a red and a green curry. The woman asked the server that she ordered a panang curry, instead of accepting his mistake he told her that no, she ordered the green curry. The woman was very nice and said that she didn't mind and liked green curry anyway. Then while taking our order he was distracted yelling out to someone across the street and as such we received a Pad Thai instead of fried noodles, and some French fries that never came. Apart from that guy the women working...

Such great food and wonderful people! They curries are amazing and they make special mixed fruit shakes with funny names like cobana(coconut and banana) wrong way (pineapple mango) and many more. Louis and Safa are super nice and very helpful for good price on day trips around lanta and to other destinations in Thailand and Malaysia. I see one person post that they were not open. It is still low season here so a lot of restaurants don’t open till late November! Will go back today, tomorrow And more times before...
