Walu - Ban Tai - Breakfast & Cafe - Koh Phangan — Restaurant in Ko Pha Ngan

I came here for brunch a few days back and ordered the next level sandwich with a sunrise juice.

Upon ordering the sunrise juice, i asked if they could add more ginger, which was possible but sadly not received. The next level tuna sandwich does look appealing online, yet I found the sandwich to be quite dull actually. I was expecting for the pricing they have their food to be a little more next level as well?

Don't get me wrong, the place looks beautiful, clean, and calm. They have good service and they try to get the orders out as quickly as they can, yet in terms of flavour both lacked a tiny bit.

I probably would have tried it again to see if any of their other dishes would have been a little more exciting, if I was on the island for longer.

It wasn't a bad experience, yet there are better cafes...

The smoothie bowls are fresh and vibrant. And tasty too. But they are not value for money. The portions are too small for the price. I was genuinely surprised at the size of the portion.

I'm not new to smoothie bowls or acai bowls. Having just spent 6 weeks travelling around the provinces of Thailand. The quality of the ingredients and service here is great. But.. I personally thought the price was a little high.

If you visit the Phangan food market there is a place called pure vegan. Compare the price and portion size to there and make up your own mind.

Would I come here again. Probably not. But they do have a great choice of food and bowls, salads, wraps etc .. And I'd you're not on a budget then give...

This is my 8th time here over the years (and also the one in Haad Rin), and I’ve NEVER been let down! Usually I come to Walu for the vegetarian and Açai bowl options, but today I decided to try the Los Cabos (Beef Steak wrap - they use Australian beef), and wow- so tender and delicious! 🤤 Coming from Australia (and having generally had hit and miss “beef” experiences in Thailand 😅), I was impressed!
