We came for holiday in the Songkhla area from Singapore as tourists. Decided to had lunch at Sirada Restaurant Koh Yo because of its 4+ stars review as well as being near to the seaside. We ordered several dishes costing 1700+ thb. Not exactly value for money, food was average. Crispy duck was hard and dry, other dishes are what you can expect from any other Thai restaurant that serve better food. However, I must comment that the service from the boss of the owner is totally ignorant and unacceptable. I paid for the bill and was hanging around near the restaurant when the staff approached me to said that we damaged the glass where we ordered the watermelon juice and asked me to pay 150 thb. I told the staff that the glass broke while my 5yo daughter was drinking from it and it even hurt her lips. The glass seems to be of very low quality and I did not bother to complain as probably the cut was not so serious. The staff told me that their boss policy is to pay for 150 thb for broken glass so me and my wife told the staff to ask for the boss to come. When the boss came, he insisted us to pay the broken glass for 150thb. Considering the used glass and its quality, it’s definitely not costing 150thb. My wife and myself tried to explain to the boss that the glass broke while my daughter was drinking from it, she probably grind her teeth on the glass but for it to break so easily, something must be wrong with the glass they use and it should not be at our fault to pay. The boss insist that we pay for the broken glass. I did not want to argue and almost paid for it when my wife said she will give a bad review on this incident. The boss then said he will call the police to settle on this. This is really ridiculous and caused my 5yo daughter to cry and he didn’t even say anything to console her or care about. I don’t know if the boss was trying to scare us by saying he will call the police because we are not locals..will the police even come in such small situation I wonder. It’s the first time I had such bad experience at any restaurant while on holiday. To keep things short. I paid the 150thb and left. The boss was speechless. Maybe the boss can verify here to clarify that his restaurant policy is for customers to pay for any damage to their utensils and low quality glass so customers have to be very careful before going. Also, will he pay for the medical expenses on the side cut on my daughter’s lips? (As per picture shown) At the least as owner of a restaurant, should show some concern if the child was okay but he could not care less and just care about the 150thb. Very bad experience and will not return again. Will not recommend to anyone as well! Overrated place and super bad service, coming from the owner of the restaurant whom is unprofessional! Pls go at...

The environment here is definitely one of the highlights. The restaurant is spacious, airy, and comfortable, with a lovely view of the water. It’s a nice place to sit back, relax, and enjoy a meal while taking in the scenery. The seating arrangement is well spaced out, so it doesn’t feel cramped even when there are a few tables occupied.
Price-wise, I found it reasonable. The food portions matched the price, so it felt fair for what you get. The food taste was good overall — not outstanding, but still enjoyable. It’s a nice place if you want to try some local dishes while enjoying a calm dining atmosphere.
However, the biggest downside of our visit was the waiting time. Even though there were only a few tables of customers, the food took more than one hour to be served. We were the third table to order, but it still took a very long time for our food to arrive, which made the experience a little frustrating.
The service level was normal — the staff were polite but not particularly proactive in checking on waiting times or updating us about our order. This is definitely something that could be improved to give diners a better experience.
Overall, Sirida Restaurant offers a nice view and decent food at reasonable prices, but the very slow serving time affects the overall dining experience. If you plan to visit, be prepared to wait. With faster service, this place could easily be a 4- or...
Read moreThis is one of my highly anticipated restaurant to visit in songkhla old town. One of the best seafood restaurant around. We ordered grilled jumbo fresh water prawn, steam roe crab, som tum, salad dips and fried whitebait with garlic. The seafood are very fresh and they are of absolutely good value to me. The total damage was 2660 baht for 2 person. The dish i wanted to order was the jumbo fresh water prawn and damn they are good! IMO they are better than lobster if you like head butter. So fragrant and they grilled it to absolute perfection. Would definitely drive back just for this dish. The steam roe crab is good too! So much roe inside! They steamed it with just some light herbs and kept all the seafood goodness. The only way to do it for fresh seafood! The other dishes are good too. Would definitely be back to try their other dishes. Highly recommended!
The servers are friendly and they gave us english menu after seeing us using google translate on their thai menu. We came on thursday and the restaurant was filled with locals. Some of them are having company dinner. Plenty of parking when we came but they were filled when we left.
Definitely worth the money for quality of...
