AnChaLee Restaurant — Restaurant in Krabi Province

Went here with very high hopes to get some authentic and spicy food. We picked a local curry that was supposed to be "thick" and "extra hot" according to the menu, and the waiter warned us and said it is very spicy, we said yes please, we love spicy and we want it extra hot like it is supposed to be. But instead we got some very mild version and had to ask for extra chilli even though we specifically asked for extra hot as the menu said it would be. It alos wasnt thick or creamy as the menu said, and the chicken was incredibly dry and hard to chew. Why do thai restaurants so often not trust us when we ask for spicy? We don't need them to decide for us that we can't handle it.

We also choose Liang leaves with dried shrimps and eggs, we even asked specifically for dried shrimps on it, just as it was stated in the menu thatit would be, but instead we got fresh boiled shrimps(not a huge deal but not what we orderd).

The third dish was also supposed to be spicy but came out pretty mild. We had to ask for extra chilli and add to it as well.

All in all pretty bad experience to be honest, it's a shame, the menu and place looked very promising so we probably would have been back here many times of they actually served us spicy, authentic food as it was stated...

This is by far the best local Southern cuisine restaurant in Krabi in my opinion.

I have tried a few local restaurants in Krabi town, and I can 100% say that this place serves one of the best Southern-style local cuisines I have ever tasted.

The quality of the food and the portion is beyond the charged price. The atmosphere makes you feel like you are eating in your local friend’s garden. All staff are friendly, attentive and polite.

Amazingly delicious food!! Best food in this area. A giant step up from the foods you find at the hotel and resort restaurants (definitely food catering to westerners). Much try the fried snapper with cashes (a bit spicy but the juxtaposition of flavors is so worth it). Vegetarian friendly (the mushrooms dish and veggie dish is so good -there are pics.
