We’ve been visiting this museum for over 10 years, going once every three months, so we're familiar with it. However, our recent visit left us disappointed. Despite our children attending school in Krabi (written is free in front of the door), we were still charged the foreigner rate for them – what should have been a 200 baht fee for two adults and two kids ended up costing us 400 baht.
While the museum itself is good, it doesn’t really justify the price, especially as 90% of the exhibits remain unchanged over the years, and maintenance is noticeably lacking. The air conditioning is often turned off, which makes it uncomfortable, and it's closed on Sundays, the one day most people have free to visit.

In old days, Krabi was an important route for beads tradings and they had their own bead as well. It's not sure if they were producing by themselves but there are some beads that only found in Krabi.
You can see what people in old days loved and how Krabi was a point for trading such luxuries.
They only accept cash so I couldn't purchase souvenirs. You need to prepare luke thousands of bht if you are interested in beads.

Read moreThis Art Gallery is something interesting place. Very small gallery but presentation of history about beads trade and manufacture in the Andaman region since prehistoric times in Thailand. Display is so nice to see and all informations displayed with sub tittles. Here I met delightful young lady who is working curator for this Gallery. She took us to inside showed us very nicely and explained everything. She is very friendly and well educated.
With this Gallery a Souvenir shop is attached. So many products are available. Worth a visit! Very educative...
