Amazing views over Phang-Nga Bay! Not overly crowded.
Probably some of the best views of Phang-Nga bay in the entire region. On a clear day you will be able to see dozens of islands and even all the way over to Phuket.
The viewpoint is actually a café that charges a 60B fee to park you vehicle at the bottom and to take you up the hill on the back of a Songthaew. You can't drive up by yourself, there is a guard at the bottom of the hill. The 60B entrance also includes a 30B voucher towards food and drinks at the café, which makes it a good value.
The café has a shaded outdoor and AC indoor area. When we visited there were only a few other people outdoors, a large group of locals filled up the AC area. There is also a big terrace that is not shaded, which was closed off during they day, I can imagine that they only open up this area for sunset. I personally preferred the shaded outdoors for the good views and the warm breeze from the Ocean.
Transport was well organized, after purchasing the ticket there's a small waiting area for the next Songthaew, which left withing a few minutes. At the top there is also a waiting platform and there was no wait at all to get back down, the Songthaew left as soon as 2 passengers...

Khaothong Hill is an absolute must-visit if you’re in Krabi, especially for sunset. The views from the deck are just breathtaking — looking out over the ocean, small islands, and surrounding hills while the sky lights up in color is an experience you won’t forget. It’s easily one of the most amazing sunset spots we’ve seen in Thailand.
The food is good and reasonably priced considering the unique location. That said, the restaurant does get busy, so the staff can sometimes be a little occupied, but they remain kind and efficient despite the rush. The atmosphere can feel a bit crowded during peak hours, so if you can, grab a table out on the deck for the best view and less hustle.
Tips for visitors: Book ahead if you want a guaranteed table at the front, especially for sunset times. There’s an extra cost to be driven up to the restaurant, but it’s worth it for the view. Visit at least 30 minutes before sunset to settle in and enjoy the changing light.
Overall, Khaothong Hill combines delicious food, friendly service, and one of the most incredible sunset views in Krabi. Highly recommended for a...
