As you can tell by the exterior picture, it doesn't look like a restaurant. Actually walked pass twice by mistake. Looks more like a gas station that serves simple food.
Behind the facade, a small place that sits maybe 20 people. Open air kitchen where you can watch where the magic happens, fresh every time. And judge for yourself their hygiene standards. Another nice feature is they offer free ice and also water on every table. The menu was quite full, pages of dishes. If watching Thai cooking is your thing, the demo is free! Looks like they have two cooks, one doing stir fry, the other the soupy dishes.
The secret part is a misnomer! Despite the appearance, there was a constant buzz of guests, nearly all tourists. No surprise that I was warned by the waitress, I will have to wait 20 minutes.
The food prices are the lowest I've seen in Thailand, 60b for a pad krapow. I opted for the beef version for a little bit more. The food was good. The fried egg was runny, the way I like it. The melon soup was surprisingly robust. Add as much of the chillies and garlic in fish sauce as you like, and the krapow really has oomph.
